Proverbs 19:6-8

⁶ Many revere the face of the prince, and every man is friend to him who gives gifts.

⁷ All the brothers of the poor hate him. How much more will his friends depart far from him? Though he pursues with words, still they are not.

⁸ He who possesses understanding, loves his own soul; and keeps wisdom to find goodness.
