5 vad är då en människa, att du tänker på henne,
en människoson[a], att du lägger märke till honom?
6 Du gjorde honom lite lägre än Gud[b]
och krönte honom med härlighet och ära.
7 Du satte honom att härska över allt du har skapat,
du lade allt under hans fötter,
8 får, oxar, vilda djur,

- 8:5 Eller ett människobarn, här syftande på människan som skapad av Gud. Människoson blir i Nya Testamentet en benämning som Jesus använder om sig själv, (t.ex. Matt 16:27f.), och i Heb 2 tillämpas texten direkt på honom.
- 8:6 Jfr Heb 2:6-7 där texten citeras ur Septuaginta; t.ex. änglar i st.f. ”Gud”. Det hebreiska ordet elohim (Gud, gud, gudar) används ibland även i andra betydelser, se t.ex. fotnot till 2 Mos 22:8, beroende på sammanhanget.
