²⁴ Then they refused to go into the ·beautiful land of Canaan [desired/coveted land];
    they did not ·believe what God promised [^Ltrust his word; Num. 14:1–12].
²⁵ They ·grumbled [complained] in their tents [Deut. 1:27; 1 Cor. 10:10]
    and did not ·obey [^Llisten to] the Lord.
