Psalm 78:36-38

³⁶ But they flattered Him with their mouth and lied to Him with their tongue.

³⁷ For their heart was not upright with Him; nor were they faithful in His Covenant.

³⁸ Yet, He, being merciful, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; but oftentimes called back His anger and did not stir up all His wrath.
