⁸ Do not harden your hearts as at ^[a](A)Meribah,
As on the day of ^[b](B)Massah in the wilderness,

⁹ “When your fathers ^(A)put Me to the test,
They tested Me, though they had seen My work.

⁴³ Many times He would ^(A)rescue them;
They, however, were rebellious in their ^(B)plan,
And they ^(C)sank down into their guilt.

¹¹ Because they had ^(A)rebelled against the words of God
And ^(B)rejected the ^(C)plan of the Most High.
