² The Lord is great in Zion;
he is exalted above all the peoples.^(A)

²¹ so that they might declare
the name of the Lord in Zion
and his praise in Jerusalem^(A)

⁹ Why are you like a helpless man,
like a warrior unable to save?^(A)
Yet you are among us, Lord,^(B)
and we bear your name.
Don’t leave us!

¹⁷ Then you will know
that I am the Lord your God,^(A)
who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain.^(B)
Jerusalem will be holy,^(C)
and foreigners will never overrun it again.^(D)

²¹ I will pardon their bloodguilt,^[a](A)
which I have not pardoned,
for the Lord dwells in Zion.

¹¹ Her leaders issue rulings for a bribe,^(A)
her priests teach for payment,^(B)
and her prophets practise divination for silver.
Yet they lean on the Lord, saying,
‘Isn’t the Lord^(C) among us?
No disaster will overtake us.’
