² Then I saw another angel rising up from the east,^(A) who had the seal of the living God.^(B) He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who were allowed to harm the earth and the sea, ³ ‘Don’t harm the earth or the sea or the trees^(C) until we seal the servants of our God on their foreheads.’^(D)

⁴ They were told not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green plant, or any tree,^(A) but only those people who do not have God’s seal on their foreheads.^(B)

The Lamb and the 144,000

14 Then I looked, and there was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion,^(A) and with him were 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.^(B)
