Vor Gott sind alle Menschen schuldig
9 Haben wir Juden nun irgendeinen Vorzug vor den anderen Menschen?[a] Ich sage: Nein, ganz und gar nicht! Denn eben habe ich bewiesen, dass alle Menschen – ob Juden oder Nichtjuden – unter der Herrschaft der Sünde leben. 10 Dasselbe sagt schon die Heilige Schrift:
»Es gibt keinen, auch nicht einen Einzigen, der ohne Sünde ist. 11 Es gibt keinen, der einsichtig ist und nach Gott fragt. 12 Alle haben sich von ihm abgewandt und sind dadurch für Gott unbrauchbar geworden. Da ist wirklich keiner, der Gutes tut, kein Einziger.[b] 13 Ihre Worte bringen Tod und Verderben.[c] Durch und durch verlogen ist all ihr Reden, und was über ihre Lippen kommt, ist bösartig und todbringend wie Schlangengift.[d] 14 Ihr Mund ist voller Flüche und Gehässigkeiten.[e] 15 Sie sind schnell bereit, Blut zu vergießen. 16 Sie hinterlassen eine Spur der Verwüstung und des Elends. 17 Den Weg zum Frieden kennen sie nicht,[f] 18 denn sie haben keine Ehrfurcht vor Gott.[g]«
19 So steht es in Gottes Gesetz, und wir wissen: Das Gesetz gilt gerade für die, denen es gegeben wurde. Deshalb kann sich keiner herausreden. Alle Menschen auf der Welt sind vor Gott schuldig.

No One Is Righteous
9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage?(A) Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.(B) 10 As it is written:
“There is no one righteous, not even one;
11 there is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.”[a](C)
13 “Their throats are open graves;
their tongues practice deceit.”[b](D)
“The poison of vipers is on their lips.”[c](E)
14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”[d](F)
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 ruin and misery mark their ways,
17 and the way of peace they do not know.”[e](G)
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”[f](H)
19 Now we know that whatever the law says,(I) it says to those who are under the law,(J) so that every mouth may be silenced(K) and the whole world held accountable to God.(L)

9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
