18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes” [Ps 36:1]. 19 And we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to the ones under the Law— in order that every mouth may be stopped[a] and the whole world may become accountable[b] to God. 20 Because by the works of law[c] no flesh will be declared-righteous in His sight. For through law comes the knowledge of sin.

19 Nalalaman natin na anumang sinasabi ng Kautusan ay sinasabi sa mga nasa ilalim nito, upang walang maidahilan ang sinuman, at upang ang buong sanlibutan ay pananagutin sa harapan ng Diyos. 20 Sapagkat (B) walang sinumang[a] ituturing na matuwid sa harapan ng Diyos sa pamamagitan ng mga gawang batay sa Kautusan, sapagkat sa pamamagitan ng Kautusan ay nagkaroon ng kamalayan sa kasalanan.
