The Promise Granted through Faith

¹³ For the promise to Abraham^(A) or to his descendants that he would inherit the world^(B) was not through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. ¹⁴ If those who are of the law are heirs,^(C) faith is made empty and the promise nullified,

¹⁷ and if children, also heirs^(A) – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ – if indeed we suffer with him^(B) so that we may also be glorified with him.

²⁹ And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs^(A) according to the promise.^(B)

⁷ So you are no longer a slave^(A) but a son,^(B) and if a son, then God has made you an heir.^(C)

⁷ so that, having been justified by his grace,^(A) we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.^(B)

² In these last days,^(A) he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things^(B) and made the universe^[a](C) through him.

⁷ By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.^(A)
