7 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west.(A) 8 I will bring them back(B) to live(C) in Jerusalem; they will be my people,(D) and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.(E)”
9 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Now hear these words, ‘Let your hands be strong(F) so that the temple may be built.’ This is also what the prophets(G) said who were present when the foundation(H) was laid for the house of the Lord Almighty. 10 Before that time there were no wages(I) for people or hire for animals. No one could go about their business safely(J) because of their enemies, since I had turned everyone against their neighbor. 11 But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as I did in the past,”(K) declares the Lord Almighty.
12 “The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit,(L) the ground will produce its crops,(M) and the heavens will drop their dew.(N) I will give all these things as an inheritance(O) to the remnant of this people.(P) 13 Just as you, Judah and Israel, have been a curse[a](Q) among the nations, so I will save(R) you, and you will be a blessing.[b](S) Do not be afraid,(T) but let your hands be strong.(U)”
14 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Just as I had determined to bring disaster(V) on you and showed no pity when your ancestors angered me,” says the Lord Almighty, 15 “so now I have determined to do good(W) again to Jerusalem and Judah.(X) Do not be afraid. 16 These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth(Y) to each other, and render true and sound judgment(Z) in your courts;(AA) 17 do not plot evil(AB) against each other, and do not love to swear falsely.(AC) I hate all this,” declares the Lord.
18 The word of the Lord Almighty came to me.
19 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “The fasts of the fourth,(AD) fifth,(AE) seventh(AF) and tenth(AG) months will become joyful(AH) and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah. Therefore love truth(AI) and peace.”
20 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come, 21 and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, ‘Let us go at once to entreat(AJ) the Lord and seek(AK) the Lord Almighty. I myself am going.’ 22 And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord Almighty and to entreat him.”(AL)
23 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, ‘Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.’”(AM)

7 »Yo rescataré a mi pueblo

y juro que así lo haré.
9-11 »Ustedes han oído mi mensaje
por medio de mis profetas,
desde que se puso la primera piedra
para reconstruir mi templo.
Por lo tanto, ¡anímense!
»Antes de empezar la reconstrucción
no se les pagaba a los trabajadores
ni se alimentaba a los animales;
por culpa del enemigo
nadie viajaba con tranquilidad,
y todos se peleaban contra todos.
Pero ya no voy a tratar así
a los que aún quedan con vida.
Yo soy el Dios de Israel,
y les juro que así será.
12-13 »¡Habitantes de Judá!
¡Pueblo de Israel!
Ustedes fueron entre las naciones
un pueblo al que todos maldecían,
pero yo los salvaré
y serán una bendición.
Sembrarán sus campos en paz,
y sus viñedos darán mucho fruto;
el cielo enviará sus lluvias
y la tierra dará sus cosechas.
Todo eso les daré a ustedes,
los que han quedado con vida.
Por lo tanto, ¡anímense!
14-15 »Habitantes de Judá y de Jerusalén:
Sus antepasados me hicieron enojar;
por eso los destruí sin compasión.
Pero no tengan miedo,
que ahora voy a tratarlos bien.
Yo soy el Dios de Israel,
y les juro que así lo haré.
16 ȃstos son mis mandamientos:
Digan siempre la verdad,
procuren hacer la paz,
y traten a todos con justicia.
17 No hagan planes malvados
en contra de sus semejantes,
ni hagan juramentos falsos,
porque todo eso lo aborrezco.
Yo soy el Dios de Israel,
y les juro que así es».
18-19 El Dios todopoderoso también me dio este mensaje:
«Habitantes de Judá:
amen la paz y la verdad.
Así serán muy felices
cuando ayunen en el mes cuarto,
y en el quinto, séptimo y décimo.
¡Será como si estuvieran de fiesta!
20-21 »Vendrán muchos pueblos y naciones,
y pasarán de una ciudad a otra
diciéndole a la gente:
“Busquen la bendición de Dios.
Nosotros también la buscaremos”.
Yo soy el Dios de Israel,
y les juro que así será.
22-23 »Cuando llegue ese día,
muchos pueblos y naciones poderosas
vendrán a Jerusalén para pedirme
que los trate con bondad.
Diez hombres buscarán a un judío,
y agarrándolo de la ropa
le dirán en otro idioma:
“¡Déjanos acompañarte a Jerusalén!
¡Sabemos que Dios está con ustedes!”
