Bible in 90 Days
14 “Just as many were astonished at you, His appearance was more deformed than any other man, and His form more than the sons of men. So shall He sprinkle many nations. The kings shall shut their mouths at Him. For that which had not been told to them, they shall see. And that which they had not heard, they shall understand.”
53 Who will believe our report? And to whom is the Arm of the LORD revealed?
2 But He shall grow up before Him as a branch, and as a root out of a dry ground. He has neither form nor beauty. When we shall see Him, there shall be no form that would cause us to desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men. He is a man full of sorrows and acquainted with sickness. We hid, as it were, our faces from Him. He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely, He has born our sickness and carried our sorrows. Yet, we judged Him as touched and stricken by God, and humbled.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was broken for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him. And with His stripes we are healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have gone astray. We have turned, every one, to his own way. And the LORD has laid the iniquity of us all upon Him.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted. Yet, He did not open His Mouth. He is brought as a sheep to the slaughter. And as a sheep before her shearer is dumb, so He did not open His Mouth.
8 He was taken out from prison, and from judgment. And who shall declare His age? For He was cut out of the land of the living. For He was plagued for the transgression of my people.
9 And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich, in His death. Though He had done no wickedness. Nor was any deceit in His Mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to break Him and make Him endure grief, when He shall make His soul an Offering for sin. He shall see His seed and shall prolong His days. And the will of the LORD shall prosper in His Hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul and shall be satisfied. “By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify many. For He shall bear their iniquities.
12 “Therefore, I will give him a portion with the great. And He shall divide the plunder with the strong, because He has poured out His soul until death. And He was counted with the transgressors. And He bore the sin of many, and prayed for the trespassers.”
54 “Rejoice, O barren who did not bear! Break forth into joy and rejoice, you who did not labor with child! For the desolate has more children than the married wife,” says the LORD.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tents. And let them spread out the curtains of your habitations. Do not spare. Stretch out your cords and strengthen your stakes.
3 “For you shall increase on the right hand and on the left. And your seed shall possess the Gentiles and dwell in the desolate cities.
4 “Do not fear. For you shall not be ashamed. Nor shall you be confounded. For you shall not be put to shame. Indeed, you shall forget the shame of your youth and shalt not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
5 “For He Who made you is your husband (Whose Name is the LORD of Hosts). And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, shall be called the God of the whole world.
6 “For the LORD has called you, being like a woman forsaken and afflicted in spirit, and like a young wife when you were refused,” says your God.
7 “For a little while I have forsaken you. But with great compassion I will gather you.
8 “For a moment, in anger, I hid My Face from you for a little season. But with everlasting mercy, I have had compassion on you,” says the LORD, your Redeemer.
9 “For this is to Me as the waters of Noah. For as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should go over the Earth no more, so have I sworn that I would not be angry with you or rebuke you.
10 “For the mountains shall depart. And the hills shall fall down. But My mercy shall not depart from you. Nor shall the Covenant of My Peace fall away,” says the LORD, Who has compassion on you.
11 “O you afflicted and tossed with storms, who has no comfort, behold, I will lay your stones with antimony, and lay your foundation with sapphires.
12 “And I will make your windows of emeralds and your gates of shining, your borders of pleasant stones.
13 “And all your children shall be taught about the LORD. And much peace shall be to your children.
14 “In righteousness you shall be established, be far from oppression (for you shall not fear it) and from terror (for it shall not come near you).
15 “Behold, enemies shall gather themselves, but apart from Me. Whoever shall gather himself against you, shall fall by you.
16 “Behold, I have created the blacksmith, who blows the coals in the fire. And he who brings forth an instrument for his work. And I have created the destroyer to destroy.
17 “But none of the weapons that are formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the LORD’s servants. And their righteousness is from Me,” says the LORD.
55 Ho, everyone who thirsts! Come to the waters! And you who have no silver, come, buy and eat! Come, I say! Buy wine and milk without silver and without money!
2 “Why do you lay out silver that is not for bread, and your labor without being satisfied? Listen diligently to Me and eat that which is good. And let your soul delight in fatness.
3 “Incline your ears and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live. And I will make an everlasting Covenant with you, the enduring mercies of David.
4 “Behold, I gave him as a witness to the people, for a prince and a master to the people.
5 “Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know. And a nation that did not know you shall run to you because of the LORD your God, and the Holy One of Israel. For He has glorified you.
6 “Seek the LORD while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near.
7 “Let the wicked forsake His ways, and the unrighteous his own imaginations, and return to the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and return to our God, for He is very ready to forgive.
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the Earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts above your thoughts.
10 “Surely as the rain comes down, and the snow from the heavens, and does not return there, but waters the earth and makes it bring forth and bud, so that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 “so shall My Word be that goes out of My Mouth. It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I will, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 “Therefore, you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace. The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into joy. And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 “There shall grow fir trees instead of thorns, the myrtle tree shall grow instead of nettles, and it shall be to the LORD for a Name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be taken away.”
56 Thus says the LORD: “Keep judgment and do justice. For My salvation is about to come, and My righteousness to be revealed.
2 “Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it, he who keeps the Sabbath and does not pollute it and keeps his hand from doing any evil.
3 “And do not let the son of the strangers, who is joined to the LORD, speak and say, ‘The LORD has surely separated me from His people.’ Nor let the eunuch say, ‘Behold, I am a dry tree.’”
4 For thus says the LORD: “To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose the thing that pleases Me, and take hold of My Covenant,
5 “to them will I give in My House and within My walls, a place and a name better than that of the sons and of the daughters. I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be put out.”
6 “Also, the strangers who cling to the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the Name of the LORD, and to be His servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not pollute it and embraces My Covenant,
7 “them I will also bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My House of Prayer. Their Burnt Offerings and their Sacrifices shall be accepted upon My Altar. For My House shall be called a House of Prayer, for all people.”
8 The LORD God, Who gathers the scattered of Israel, says: “I will still gather to them those who are to be gathered to them.”
9 “All you beasts of the field, come to devour, all you beasts of the forest.
10 “Their watchmen are all blind. They have no knowledge. They are all dumb dogs. They cannot bark. They lie and sleep and delight in sleeping.
11 “And these greedy dogs can never have enough. And these shepherds cannot understand. They all look to their own way, everyone for his advantage, for his own purpose, saying,
12 ‘Come, I will bring wine! And we will fill ourselves with strong drink! And tomorrow shall be as today, only much more abundant!’”
57 The righteous perishes, and no man considers it in his heart. And merciful men are taken away, and no man understands that the righteous is taken away from evil.
2 Peace shall come. They shall rest in their beds whose path is straight.
3 “But you, witches’ children, come here, the seed of the adulterer and of the whore.
4 “Of whom do you make sport? Upon whom have you gaped and thrust out your tongue? Are not you rebellious children, a false seed,
5 “inflamed with idols under every green tree and sacrificing the children in the valleys under the tops of the rocks?
6 “Your portion is in the smooth stones of the river. They, they are your lot. To them have you poured a drink offering. You have offered a sacrifice. Should I delight in these?
7 “You have made your bed upon a very high mountain. You went up there, even there, to offer sacrifice.
8 “You have also set up your remembrance behind the doors and posts. For you have uncovered yourself to one other than Me, and gone up, enlarged your bed, and made a covenant between yourself and them, and loved their bed in every place where you saw it.
9 “You went to the kings with oil and increased your ointments, sent your messengers far off, and humbled yourself into Hell.
10 “You wearied yourself in your manifold journeys. You did not say, ‘There is no hope.’ You have found life by your hand. Therefore you were not grieved.
11 “And whom did you reverence or fear, seeing you have lied to Me, and have not remembered Me, or set your mind thereon? Is it not because I hold My peace, and for a long time, that you do not fear Me?
12 “I will declare your righteousness and your works, and they shall not profit you.
13 “When you cry, let those whom you have gathered together deliver you. But the wind shall take them all away. Vanity shall pull them away. But he who trusts in Me shall inherit the land and shall possess My Holy Mountain.
14 “And He shall say, ‘Cast up! Cast up! Prepare the way! Take the stumbling blocks out of the way of My people!’”
15 For thus says He Who is high and excellent, He Who inhabits the eternity, Whose Name is the Holy One, “I dwell in the High and Holy Place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to give life to those who are of a contrite heart.
16 “For I will not contend forever. Nor will I always be angry. For the spirit should fail before me. And I have made the breath.
17 “I am angry with him for his wicked covetousness and have stricken him. I hid Myself and was angry. Yet he went away and turned after the way of his own heart.
18 “I have seen his ways and will heal him. I will also lead him and restore comfort to him, and to those who lament him.
19 “I create the fruit of the lips: peace—peace to those who are far off and to those who are near,” says the LORD, “—for I will heal him.
20 “But the wicked are like the raging sea that cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 “There is no peace,” says my God, “to the wicked.”
58 “Cry aloud! Do not hold back! Lift up your voice like a trumpet and show My people their transgression, and to the House of Jacob their sins.
2 “Still, they seek Me daily, and would know My ways, even as a nation that did righteously, and had not forsaken the Statutes of their God. They ask of Me the Ordinances of Justice. They will draw near to God, saying,
3 “‘Why do we fast and You do not see it? We punish ourselves and You do not regard it?’ Behold, on the day of your fast you will seek your will and require all your debts.
4 “Behold, you fast for strife and debate and to strike with the fist of wickedness. You shall not fast as you do today, to make your voice to be heard above.
5 “Is it such a fast that I have chosen, that a man should afflict his soul for a day, and to bow down his head, as a bull rush, and to lie down in sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, or an acceptable day to the LORD?
6 “Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loosen the bands of wickedness, to take off the heavy burdens and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?
7 “Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring the poor, who wander, into your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him and do not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 “Then shall your light break forth as the morning and your health shall grow speedily. Your righteousness shall go before you. The Glory of the LORD shall embrace you.
9 “Then shall you call, and the LORD shall answer. You shall cry, and He shall say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger and wicked speaking,
10 “if you pour out your soul to the hungry and refresh the troubled soul, then shall your light spring out in the darkness. And your darkness shall be as the noon day.
11 “And the LORD shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make your bones fat. And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 “And those who shall build the old waste places shall be from you. You shall raise up the foundations for many generations. And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of the Paths to dwell in.
13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your will on My Holy Day, and call the Sabbath a delight to consecrate it, glorious to the LORD, and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways or seeking your own will or speaking a vain word,
14 “then shall you delight in the LORD. And I will cause you to mount upon the high places of the Earth, and feed yourselves with the heritage of Jacob, your father. For the Mouth of the LORD has spoken it.”
59 Behold, the LORD’s Hand is not shortened, that it cannot save. Nor is His Ear heavy, that it cannot hear.
2 But your iniquities have put separation between you and your God. And your sins have hidden His Face from you, so that He will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity. Your lips have spoken lies. Your tongue has murmured iniquity.
4 No man calls for justice. No man contends for truth. They trust in vanity and speak vain things. They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.
5 They hatch viper’s eggs and weave the spider’s web. He who eats of their eggs, dies. And that which is stepped on breaks out into a serpent.
6 Their webs shall be no garment. Nor shall they cover themselves with their labors. Their works are works of iniquity. And the work of cruelty is in their hands.
7 Their feet turn to evil, and they hurry to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are wicked thoughts. Desolation and destruction are in their paths.
8 The way of peace they do not know. And there is no justice in their ways. They have made themselves crooked paths. Whoever goes in there shall not know peace.
9 Therefore judgment is far from us. Nor does justice come near to us. We wait for light, but lo, it is darkness, for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as one without eyes. We stumble at the noon day as in the twilight, in solitary places, as dead men.
11 We roar all like bears and mourn like doves. We look for judgment, but there is none, for health, but it is far from us.
12 For our trespasses are many before You. And our sins testify against us. For our trespasses are with us. And we know our iniquities
13 in trespassing and lying against the LORD. And we have departed away from our God, have spoken of cruelty and rebellion, conceiving and uttering false matters out of the heart.
14 Therefore, judgment has turned backward. And justice stands far off. For truth has fallen in the street, and truth cannot enter.
15 Yea, truth fails. And he who refrains from evil makes himself a prey. And when the LORD saw it, it displeased Him that there was no judgment.
16 And when He saw that there was no man, He wondered that none would offer himself. Therefore, His Arm saved it, and His righteousness itself sustained it.
17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon His Head. And He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
18 As a recompense, to requite the fury of the adversaries (a recompense to His enemies), He will fully repay the islands.
19 So shall they fear the Name of the LORD from the West, and His Glory from the rising of the Sun. For the enemy shall come like a flood. But the Spirit of the LORD shall chase him away.
20 “And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and to those who turn from iniquity in Jacob,” says the LORD.
21 “And I will make this My Covenant with them,” says the LORD, “My Spirit, Who is upon you, and My Words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of the seed of your seed,” says the LORD, “from henceforth, even forever.”
60 Arise! Be bright! For your light has come! And the Glory of the LORD has risen upon you!
2 For behold, darkness shall cover the Earth, and gross darkness the people. But the LORD shall arise upon you, and His Glory shall be seen upon you.
3 And the Gentiles shall walk in Your light, and kings at the brightness of Your rising up.
4 “Lift up your eyes all around and behold. All these are gathered and come to you. Your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nourished at your side.
5 “Then you shall see and shine. Your heart shall be astonished and enlarged, because the multitude of the sea shall be converted to you, and the riches of the Gentiles shall come to you.
6 “The multitude of camels shall cover you, and the dromedaries of Midian and of Ephah. All those of Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and incense, and show forth the praises of the LORD.
7 “All the sheep of Kedar shall be gathered to you. The rams of Nebajoth shall serve you. They shall come up to be accepted upon My Altar. And I will beautify the House of My Glory.
8 “Who are these who fly like a cloud, and as the doves, to their windows?
9 “Surely the isles shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish, as at the beginning. So that they may bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, to the Name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you.
10 “And the sons of strangers shall build up your walls. And their kings shall minister to you. For in My wrath, I struck you. But in My mercy, I had compassion on you.
11 “Therefore, your gates shall be open continually. Neither day nor night shall they be shut, so that men may bring to you the riches of the Gentiles, and so that their kings may be brought.
12 “For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve you, shall perish. And those nations shall be utterly destroyed.
13 “The glory of Lebanon shall come to you—the fir tree, the elm and the box tree together—to beautify the place of My Sanctuary. For I will glorify the place of My Feet.
14 “Also, the sons of those who afflicted you shall come and bow to you. And all those who despised you shall fall down at the soles of your feet. And they shall call you, ‘The city of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.’
15 “Whereas, you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man came near, I will make you an eternal glory, and a joy, from generation to generation.
16 “You shall also suck the milk of the Gentiles and shall suck the breasts of kings. And you shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
17 “For bronze will I bring gold, and for iron will I bring silver, and for wood, bronze, and for stones, iron. I will also make your government, peace, and your oppressors, righteousness.
18 “Violence shall be heard of no more in your land, or desolation, or destruction within your borders. But you shall call salvation, your walls, and praise, your gates.
19 “You shall have no more Sun to shine by day, nor shall the brightness of the Moon shine to you. For the LORD shall be your everlasting Light, and your God, your Glory.
20 “Your Sun shall never go down, nor shall your Moon be hidden. For the LORD shall be your everlasting light. And the days of your sorrow shall be ended.
21 “Also, your people shall all be righteous. They shall possess the land forever. The grass of My planting shall be the work of My Hands, so that I may be glorified.
22 “A little one shall become as a thousand, and a small one as a strong nation. I, the LORD, will hasten it in due time.”
61 “The Spirit of the LORD God is upon me. Therefore, the LORD has anointed me. He has sent me to preach good tidings to the poor, to bind up the broken-hearted, to preach liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,
2 “to preach the acceptable year of the LORD, and the Day of Vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
3 “to tend to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of gladness for the spirit of heaviness, so that they might be called ‘Trees of Righteousness’, the planting of the LORD, so that He might be glorified.”
4 And they shall build the old waste places, raise up the former desolation. And they shall repair the cities that were desolate and waste throughout many generations.
5 And the strangers shall stand and feed your sheep. And the sons of the strangers shall be your plowmen, and dressers of your vines.
6 But you shall be named the Priests of the LORD. And men shall say you are the ministers of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and shall be exalted with their glory.
7 Instead of your shame, you shall receive double. And for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore, in their land they shall possess double. Everlasting joy shall be to them.
8 “For I, the LORD, love judgment and hate robbery for Burnt Offering. And I will direct their work in truth. And I will make an everlasting Covenant with them.
9 “And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their buds among the people. All who see them shall know them, that they are the seed which the LORD has blessed.”
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD. My soul shall be joyful in my God. For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation and covered me with the robe of righteousness. He has decked me like a bridegroom, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the Earth brings forth her bud, and as the garden causes to grow that which is sown in it, so the LORD God will cause righteousness to grow, and praise, before all the heathen.
62 “For Zion’s sake, I will not be silent. And for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not rest, until their righteousness breaks forth as the light, their salvation as a burning lamp.”
2 And the Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. And you shall be called by a new name which the Mouth of the LORD shall name.
3 You shall also be a crown of glory in the Hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the Hand of your God.
4 No more shall it be said to you, “Forsaken.” Nor shall it be said anymore to your land, “Desolate.” But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah. For the LORD delights in you; and your land shall have a husband.
5 For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you. And as a bridegroom is glad of the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.
6 I have set watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall not cease all the day and all the night, continually. You who are mindful of the LORD, do not keep silence,
7 and give him no rest until he establishes, and until he sets up Jerusalem as the praise of the world.
8 The LORD has sworn by His right Hand and by His strong Arm, “Surely, no more will I give your grain to be food for your enemies. And surely, the sons of the strangers shall not drink your wine for which you have labored.
9 “But those who have gathered it shall eat it and praise the LORD. And its gatherers shall drink it in the courts of My Sanctuary.”
10 Go through! Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people! Cast up! Cast up the way and gather out the stones! Set up a standard for the people!
11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the ends of the world, “Tell the daughter, Zion, ‘Behold, your Savior comes. Behold, His wages are with Him and His work before Him.’”
12 And they shall call them, “The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD.” And you shall be named, “A City Sought Out, Not Forsaken.”
63 Who is this who comes from Edom, with red garments from Bozrah? He is glorious in His apparel, and walks in His great strength. “I speak in righteousness and am mighty to save.”
2 Why is your apparel red, and your garments like him who treads in the winepress?
3 “I have trod the winepress alone, and from all people there was no one with Me. For I will tread them in My anger and tread them under foot in My wrath. And their blood shall be sprinkled upon My garments. And I will stain all My clothing.
4 “For the day of vengeance is in My Heart. And the year of My redeemed has come.
5 “And I looked, and there was no one to help. And I wondered that there was no one to uphold. Therefore, My own Arm helped Me. And My wrath itself sustained Me.
6 “Therefore, I will tread down the people in My wrath, and make them drunk in My indignation, and will bring down their strength to the earth.”
7 I will remember the mercy of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has given us, and for the great goodness toward the House of Israel which He has given them according to His tender love, and according to His great mercies.
8 For He said, “Surely they are My people, children that will not lie.” So He was their Savior.
9 In all their troubles, He was troubled. And the Angel of His presence saved them. In His love and in His mercy, He redeemed them and He bore them and carried them, always, continually.
10 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit. Therefore, He was turned to be their enemy. He fought against them.
11 Then He remembered the old time of Moses and his people, saying, “Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of His sheep? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within him?
12 “He led them by the right hand of Moses with His own glorious Arm, dividing the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting Name.
13 “He led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they would not stumble.”
14 As the beast goes down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. So did You lead Your people, to make Yourself a glorious Name.
15 Look down from Heaven, and behold from the dwelling place of Your holiness, and of Your Glory. Where is Your zeal and Your strength, the multitude of Your mercies, and of Your compassion? They are restrained from me.
16 Doubtless, You are our Father. Though Abraham is ignorant of us and Israel does not know us, You, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer. Your Name is forever.
17 O LORD, why have You made us err from Your ways, hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servant’s sake, for the tribes of Your inheritance.
18 The people of Your holiness have possessed it only a little while. For our adversaries have trampled down Your Sanctuary.
19 We have been as they over whom You never bore rule and upon whom Your name was not called.
64 Oh, that You would break the heavens and come down, that the mountains might melt at Your presence!
2 As the melting fire burned, the fire caused the waters to boil, (so that You might declare Your Name to Your adversaries) the people trembled at Your presence.
3 When You did terrible things, which we did not look for, You came down and the mountains melted at Your presence.
4 For since the beginning of the world, they have neither heard nor understood with the ear. Nor has the eye seen another God beside You Who does so to him who waits for Him.
5 You met him who rejoiced and did justly. They remembered You in Your ways. Behold, You are angry, for we have sinned, continually. Yet, we shall be saved.
6 For we have all been as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness as filthy cloths. And we all fade like a leaf. And our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
7 And there is no one who calls upon Your Name, or who stirs himself up to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your Face from us, and have consumed us because of our iniquities.
8 But now, O LORD, You are our Father. We are the clay and You are our Potter. And we all are the work of Your Hands.
9 Do not be angry above measure, O LORD, or remember iniquity forever. Lo, we beg You. Behold, we are all Your people.
10 Your holy cities lie desolate. Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desert.
11 The House of our Sanctuary, and of our glory, where our fathers praised You, is burnt up with fire. And all our pleasant things are wasted.
12 Will You hold Yourself still at these things, O LORD? Will You hold Your peace and afflict us above measure?
65 “I have been sought by those who did not ask. I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Behold Me! Behold Me!’ to a nation that did not call upon My Name.
2 “I have spread out My Hands all day to a rebellious people, who walked in a way that was not good, after their own imaginations,
3 “a people that always provoked Me to My Face, who sacrifices in gardens and burns incense upon bricks,
4 “who remain among the graves and lodge in the deserts, who eat swine’s flesh with the broth of things polluted in their vessels,
5 “who say, ‘Stay away. Do not come near to me. For I am holier than you.’ These are a smoke in My wrath, a fire that burns all the day.
6 “Behold, it is written before Me. I will not keep silence, but will render it and repay it into their bosom.
7 “Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers, shall be together,” says the LORD, “who have burnt incense upon the mountains and blasphemed Me upon the hills. Therefore, I will measure their old work into their bosom.”
8 Thus says the LORD: “As the wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Do not destroy it, for a blessing is in it,’ so will I do for My servants’ sakes, so that I might not destroy them altogether.
9 “But I will bring a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah, that shall inherit My mountain. And My Elect shall inherit it. And My servants shall dwell there.
10 “And Sharon shall be a sheepfold. And the valley of Achor shall be a resting place for the cattle of My people who have sought Me.
11 “But you are those who have forsaken the LORD, and forgotten My holy Mountain, and have prepared a table for the multitude, and furnish the drink offerings to the number.
12 “Therefore, I will number you for the sword. And all you shall bow down to the slaughter, because I called and you did not answer. I spoke and you did not hear, but did evil in My sight, and chose that thing which I did not desire.”
13 Therefore, thus says the LORD God: “Behold, My servants shall eat, and you shall be hungry. Behold, My servants shall drink, and you shall be thirsty. Behold, My servants shall rejoice, and you shall be ashamed.
14 “Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, and you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for crushing of spirit.
15 “And you shall leave your name as a curse to My Chosen. For the LORD God shall slay you and call His servants by another name.
16 “He who shall bless on the Earth, shall bless himself in the true God. And he who swears on the Earth, shall swear by the true God. For the former troubles are forgotten, and shall surely hide themselves from My Eyes.
17 “For lo, I will create new heavens and a new Earth. And the former shall neither be remembered nor come to mind.
18 “But be glad and rejoice forever in the things that I shall create. For behold, I will create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people as a joy.
19 “And I will rejoice in Jerusalem and joy in My people. And the voice of weeping shall be heard no more in her, nor the voice of crying.
20 “No more shall there be there a child of no years, or an old man who has not filled his days. For he who shall be a hundred years old shall die a young man. But the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed.
21 “And they shall build houses and inhabit them. And they shall plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them.
22 “They shall not build, and another inhabit. They shall not plant, and another eat. For as the days of the tree are the days of My people. And My Elect shall enjoy the work of their hands in old age.
23 “They shall neither labor in vain nor bring forth in fear. For they are the seed of the Blessed of the LORD, and their buds with them.
24 “Yea, before they call, I will answer. And while they speak, I will hear.
25 “The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And dust shall be food to the serpent. They shall neither hurt nor destroy anymore, in all My holy mountain,” says the LORD.
66 Thus says the LORD: “The heaven is My throne, and the Earth is My footstool. Where is that House that you would build Me? And where is that place of My rest?
2 “For all these things has My Hand made. And all these things have been,” says the LORD, “And to him will I look, to him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at My words.
3 “He who kills an ox is as if he killed a man, he who sacrifices a sheep as if he broke a dog’s neck, he who offers an oblation as if he offered swine’s blood, he who remembers incense as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways and their soul delights in their abominations.
4 “Therefore, I will choose their delusions and I will bring their fear upon them. Because I called, and no one would answer. I speak, and they would not hear. But they did evil in My sight and chose the things which I would not.”
5 “Hear the Word of the LORD, all you who tremble at His Word. “Your brothers who hated you, and cast you out for My Name’s sake, said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified.’ But He shall appear to your joy. And they shall be ashamed.”
6 A Voice sounds from the city, a Voice from the Temple, the Voice of the LORD, Who recompenses His enemies fully.
7 “Before she labored, she brought forth. And before her pain came, she delivered a male child.
8 “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the Earth be brought forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion labored, she brought forth her children.
9 “Shall I cause to labor and not bring forth? Shall I cause to bring forth and not deliver?” says the LORD.
10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all you who love her. Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn for her,
11 “So that you may nurse and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolation. So that you may drink deeply and be delighted with the brightness of her glory.”
12 For thus says the LORD: “Behold, I will extend peace over her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Then shall you suck. You shall be born upon her sides and be joyful upon her knees.
13 “As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you. And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”
14 And when you see this, your hearts shall rejoice. And your bones shall flourish like grass. And the hand of the LORD shall be known among His servants, and His indignation against His enemies.
15 For behold, the LORD will come with fire, and His chariots like a whirlwind, so that He may repay His anger with wrath, and His indignation with the flame of fire.
16 For the LORD will judge with fire, and all flesh with His sword. And the slain of the LORD shall be many.
17 “Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves in the gardens, after one in the midst, eating swine’s flesh and such abominations (even the mouse), shall be consumed together,” says the LORD.
18 “For I will visit their works and their imaginations. For it shall come that I will gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My Glory.
