Revised Geneva Translation (RGT)
Version
Isaiah 62:6-65:25

I have set watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall not cease all the day and all the night, continually. You who are mindful of the LORD, do not keep silence,

and give him no rest until he establishes, and until he sets up Jerusalem as the praise of the world.

The LORD has sworn by His right Hand and by His strong Arm, “Surely, no more will I give your grain to be food for your enemies. And surely, the sons of the strangers shall not drink your wine for which you have labored.

“But those who have gathered it shall eat it and praise the LORD. And its gatherers shall drink it in the courts of My Sanctuary.”

10 Go through! Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people! Cast up! Cast up the way and gather out the stones! Set up a standard for the people!

11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the ends of the world, “Tell the daughter, Zion, ‘Behold, your Savior comes. Behold, His wages are with Him and His work before Him.’”

12 And they shall call them, “The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD.” And you shall be named, “A City Sought Out, Not Forsaken.”

63 Who is this who comes from Edom, with red garments from Bozrah? He is glorious in His apparel, and walks in His great strength. “I speak in righteousness and am mighty to save.”

Why is your apparel red, and your garments like him who treads in the winepress?

“I have trod the winepress alone, and from all people there was no one with Me. For I will tread them in My anger and tread them under foot in My wrath. And their blood shall be sprinkled upon My garments. And I will stain all My clothing.

“For the day of vengeance is in My Heart. And the year of My redeemed has come.

“And I looked, and there was no one to help. And I wondered that there was no one to uphold. Therefore, My own Arm helped Me. And My wrath itself sustained Me.

“Therefore, I will tread down the people in My wrath, and make them drunk in My indignation, and will bring down their strength to the earth.”

I will remember the mercy of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has given us, and for the great goodness toward the House of Israel which He has given them according to His tender love, and according to His great mercies.

For He said, “Surely they are My people, children that will not lie.” So He was their Savior.

In all their troubles, He was troubled. And the Angel of His presence saved them. In His love and in His mercy, He redeemed them and He bore them and carried them, always, continually.

10 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit. Therefore, He was turned to be their enemy. He fought against them.

11 Then He remembered the old time of Moses and his people, saying, “Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of His sheep? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within him?

12 “He led them by the right hand of Moses with His own glorious Arm, dividing the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting Name.

13 “He led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they would not stumble.”

14 As the beast goes down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. So did You lead Your people, to make Yourself a glorious Name.

15 Look down from Heaven, and behold from the dwelling place of Your holiness, and of Your Glory. Where is Your zeal and Your strength, the multitude of Your mercies, and of Your compassion? They are restrained from me.

16 Doubtless, You are our Father. Though Abraham is ignorant of us and Israel does not know us, You, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer. Your Name is forever.

17 O LORD, why have You made us err from Your ways, hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servant’s sake, for the tribes of Your inheritance.

18 The people of Your holiness have possessed it only a little while. For our adversaries have trampled down Your Sanctuary.

19 We have been as they over whom You never bore rule and upon whom Your name was not called.

64 Oh, that You would break the heavens and come down, that the mountains might melt at Your presence!

As the melting fire burned, the fire caused the waters to boil, (so that You might declare Your Name to Your adversaries) the people trembled at Your presence.

When You did terrible things, which we did not look for, You came down and the mountains melted at Your presence.

For since the beginning of the world, they have neither heard nor understood with the ear. Nor has the eye seen another God beside You Who does so to him who waits for Him.

You met him who rejoiced and did justly. They remembered You in Your ways. Behold, You are angry, for we have sinned, continually. Yet, we shall be saved.

For we have all been as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness as filthy cloths. And we all fade like a leaf. And our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

And there is no one who calls upon Your Name, or who stirs himself up to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your Face from us, and have consumed us because of our iniquities.

But now, O LORD, You are our Father. We are the clay and You are our Potter. And we all are the work of Your Hands.

Do not be angry above measure, O LORD, or remember iniquity forever. Lo, we beg You. Behold, we are all Your people.

10 Your holy cities lie desolate. Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desert.

11 The House of our Sanctuary, and of our glory, where our fathers praised You, is burnt up with fire. And all our pleasant things are wasted.

12 Will You hold Yourself still at these things, O LORD? Will You hold Your peace and afflict us above measure?

65 “I have been sought by those who did not ask. I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Behold Me! Behold Me!’ to a nation that did not call upon My Name.

“I have spread out My Hands all day to a rebellious people, who walked in a way that was not good, after their own imaginations,

“a people that always provoked Me to My Face, who sacrifices in gardens and burns incense upon bricks,

“who remain among the graves and lodge in the deserts, who eat swine’s flesh with the broth of things polluted in their vessels,

“who say, ‘Stay away. Do not come near to me. For I am holier than you.’ These are a smoke in My wrath, a fire that burns all the day.

“Behold, it is written before Me. I will not keep silence, but will render it and repay it into their bosom.

“Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers, shall be together,” says the LORD, “who have burnt incense upon the mountains and blasphemed Me upon the hills. Therefore, I will measure their old work into their bosom.”

Thus says the LORD: “As the wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Do not destroy it, for a blessing is in it,’ so will I do for My servants’ sakes, so that I might not destroy them altogether.

“But I will bring a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah, that shall inherit My mountain. And My Elect shall inherit it. And My servants shall dwell there.

10 “And Sharon shall be a sheepfold. And the valley of Achor shall be a resting place for the cattle of My people who have sought Me.

11 “But you are those who have forsaken the LORD, and forgotten My holy Mountain, and have prepared a table for the multitude, and furnish the drink offerings to the number.

12 “Therefore, I will number you for the sword. And all you shall bow down to the slaughter, because I called and you did not answer. I spoke and you did not hear, but did evil in My sight, and chose that thing which I did not desire.”

13 Therefore, thus says the LORD God: “Behold, My servants shall eat, and you shall be hungry. Behold, My servants shall drink, and you shall be thirsty. Behold, My servants shall rejoice, and you shall be ashamed.

14 “Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, and you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for crushing of spirit.

15 “And you shall leave your name as a curse to My Chosen. For the LORD God shall slay you and call His servants by another name.

16 “He who shall bless on the Earth, shall bless himself in the true God. And he who swears on the Earth, shall swear by the true God. For the former troubles are forgotten, and shall surely hide themselves from My Eyes.

17 “For lo, I will create new heavens and a new Earth. And the former shall neither be remembered nor come to mind.

18 “But be glad and rejoice forever in the things that I shall create. For behold, I will create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people as a joy.

19 “And I will rejoice in Jerusalem and joy in My people. And the voice of weeping shall be heard no more in her, nor the voice of crying.

20 “No more shall there be there a child of no years, or an old man who has not filled his days. For he who shall be a hundred years old shall die a young man. But the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed.

21 “And they shall build houses and inhabit them. And they shall plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them.

22 “They shall not build, and another inhabit. They shall not plant, and another eat. For as the days of the tree are the days of My people. And My Elect shall enjoy the work of their hands in old age.

23 “They shall neither labor in vain nor bring forth in fear. For they are the seed of the Blessed of the LORD, and their buds with them.

24 “Yea, before they call, I will answer. And while they speak, I will hear.

25 “The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And dust shall be food to the serpent. They shall neither hurt nor destroy anymore, in all My holy mountain,” says the LORD.

Philippians 2:19-3:3

19 And I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I know your state.

20 For I have no one of like mind who will faithfully care for your matters.

21 For all seek their own, and not that which is Jesus Christ’s.

22 But you know the proof of him who, as a child with his father, has served with me in the Gospel.

23 Therefore, I hope to send him as soon as I know how it will go with me.

24 And I trust in the Lord that I, myself, shall also come shortly.

25 But I thought it necessary to send to you my brother, fellow laborer, and fellow soldier, Epaphroditus (who is now your messenger and minister to my needs).

26 For he longed after all of you, and was full of heaviness, because you had heard that he had been sick.

27 And no doubt he was sick, very near to death. But God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, so that I should not have sorrow upon sorrow.

28 Therefore, I sent him all the more speedily, so that when you would see him again you might rejoice and I might be the less sorrowful.

29 Therefore, receive him in the Lord with all joy. And value such men highly.

30 Because he was near death for the work of Christ and did not regard his life, to fulfill that service which was lacking on your part toward me.

Moreover, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It does not trouble me to write the same things to you. And for you it is certain.

Beware of dogs. Beware of evil workers. Beware of the concision.

For we are the circumcision. We worship God in the Spirit and rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh,

Psalm 73

73 Truly, God is good to Israel, to the pure in heart!

As for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had very nearly slipped.

For I envied the boastful when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

For there are no pains in their death; but they are lusty and strong.

They are not in trouble as other men, nor are they plagued like other men.

Therefore, pride is as a necklace to them, and cruelty covers them as a garment.

Their eyes bulge with fatness. They have more than heart can wish.

They mock and wickedly speak of oppression. They talk presumptuously.

They set their mouth against Heaven, and their tongue walks through the Earth.

10 Therefore, his people return here; for waters of abundance are drained by them,

11 and they say, “How does God know it?” or “Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

12 Lo, these are the wicked; yet they always prosper and increase in riches.

13 Certainly, I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence.

14 For I have been punished daily and chastened every morning.

15 If I say, “I will judge like this,” behold, I have trespassed the generation of Your children.

16 When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me,

17 Then I went into the Sanctuary of God, and I understood their end.

18 Surely, You have set them in slippery places, and cast them down into desolation.

19 How suddenly they are destroyed, ended and horribly consumed,

20 As a dream when one awakes, O LORD, shall You make their image despised when You raise us up.

21 Certainly, my heart was grieved; and I was pricked in my core.

22 So foolish was I and ignorant! I was a beast before You!

23 Yet, I was always with You. You have held my right hand.

24 You will guide me by Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

25 Whom do I have in Heaven but You? And, I have desired nothing on the Earth besides You.

26 My flesh fails and my heart also. God is the strength of my heart and my portion, forever.

27 For lo, those who withdraw themselves from You shall perish. You destroy all those who are unfaithful to You.

28 As for me, it is good for me to draw near to God. I have put my trust in the LORD God, so that I may declare all Your works. A Psalm to give instruction, committed to Asaph

Proverbs 24:13-14

13 My son, eat honey, for it is good; and the honeycomb, for it is sweet to your mouth.

14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul if you find it. And there shall be an end; and your hope shall not be cut off.
