47 Afterward, he brought me to the door of the House. And behold, waters came out from under the threshold of the House, eastward (for the front of the House faced east). And the waters ran down from under the right side of the House, on the south side of the Altar.
2 Then he brought me out toward the North gate and led me around by the outside, into the outer gate, by the way that turns eastward. And behold, there came forth waters on the right side.
3 And when the man who had the line in his hand went forth, eastward, he measured a thousand cubits. And he brought me through the waters (the waters were to the ankles).
4 Again, he measured a thousand and brought me through the waters (the waters were to the knees). Again, he measured a thousand and brought me through (the waters were to the loins).
5 Afterward, he measured a thousand, and it was a river that I could not pass over; for the waters had risen, the waters flowed as a river that could not be passed over.
6 And he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and caused me to return to the bank of the river.
7 Now, when I turned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on one side and on the other.
8 Then he said to me, “These waters come out toward the east country, and run down into the plain, and shall go into one sea. They shall run into the sea and the waters shall be wholesome.
9 “And everything that lives which moves, wherever the rivers shall go, shall live. And there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall go there. For they shall be wholesome, and everything shall live where the river goes.
10 “And then the fishers shall stand upon it, from En Gedi to En Eglaim, they shall spread out their nets. Their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the main sea, exceedingly many.
11 “But its swampy places, and its marshes, shall not be wholesome. They shall be made salt pits.
12 “And by this river, upon its banks, on this side and on that side, shall grow all fruitful trees, whose leaf shall not fade, nor shall its fruit fail. It shall bring forth new fruit according to its months, because their waters run out of the Sanctuary. And its fruit shall be food, and its leaf shall be for medicine.”
13 Thus says the Lord GOD: “This shall be the border by which you shall inherit the land, according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions.
14 “And you shall inherit it, one as well as the other, concerning which I lifted up My Hand to give to your fathers. And this land shall fall to you for an inheritance.
15 “And this shall be the border of the land toward the north side: from the main sea toward Hethlon, as men go to Zedad —
16 Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim — which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath, Hazar and Hatticon, which is by the coast of Hauran.
17 “And the border from the sea shall be Hazar, Enan, the border of Damascus, the rest of the North northward, and the border of Hamath. So shall be the North part.
18 “But you shall measure the east side from Hauran and from Damascus and from Gilead and from the land of Israel by Jordan (from the border to the East Sea). And so shall be the East part.
19 “And the south side shall be toward Teman, from Tamar to the waters of Meriboth in Kadesh and the river to the main sea. So shall be the South part, toward Teman.
20 “Also, the border of the West part shall be the Great Sea, until a man comes opposite Hamath. This shall be the West part.
21 “So shall you divide this land to you, according to the tribes of Israel.
22 “And you shall divide it by lot, for an inheritance to you and to the strangers who dwell among you, who shall beget children among you. And they shall be to you as those born in the country among the children of Israel. They shall divide inheritance with you in the midst of the tribes of Israel.
23 “And in whatever tribe the stranger dwells, there shall you give him his inheritance,” says the Lord GOD.
48 “Now these are the names of the tribes: From the North Side to the coast, toward Hethlon, as one goes to Hamath, Hazar, Enan, and the border of Damascus northward to the coast of Hamath, from the east side to the west shall be a portion for Dan.
2 “And by the border of Dan, from the East Side to the West Side, shall be a portion for Asher,
3 “And by the border of Asher, from the east part to the west part, shall be a portion for Naphtali,
4 “And by the border of Naphtali, from the East Quarter to the West Side, shall be a portion for Manasseh.
5 “And by the border of Manasseh, from the East Side to the West Side, shall be a portion for Ephraim.
6 “And by the border of Ephraim, from the east part to the west part, shall be a portion for Reuben.
7 “And by the border of Reuben, from the East Quarter to the West Quarter, shall be a portion for Judah.
8 “And by the border of Judah, from the east part to the west part, shall be the offering which they shall offer, of twenty-five thousand reeds wide, and of the same length as one of the parts, from the East Side to the West Side. And the Sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.
9 “The oblation that you shall offer to the LORD shall be twenty-five thousand long and ten thousand wide.
10 “And this holy oblation for them, for the priests, shall be twenty-five thousand long toward the North and ten thousand wide toward the West and ten thousand wide toward the East and twenty-five thousand long toward the South. And the Sanctuary of the LORD shall be in its midst,
11 for the Priests of the sons of Zadok who are sanctified, who have kept My charge, who did not go astray as the Levites went astray when the children of Israel went astray.
12 “Therefore, this oblation of the land that is offered shall be theirs, as a thing Most Holy, by the border of the Levites.
13 “And alongside the border of the Priests, the Levites shall have twenty-five thousand long and ten thousand wide. The whole length shall be twenty-five thousand, and the width ten thousand.
14 “And they shall not sell any of it, or change it, or alienate the firstfruits of the land; for it is holy to the LORD.
15 “And the five thousand that is left in the width, opposite the twenty-five thousand, shall be a profane place for the city, for housing, and for suburbs. And the city shall be in its midst.
16 “And these shall be its measures: the north part five hundred four thousand and the south part five hundred four thousand and the east part five hundred four thousand and the west part five hundred four thousand.
17 “And the suburbs of the city shall be two hundred fifty toward the North and two hundred fifty toward the South and two hundred fifty toward the East and two hundred fifty toward the West.
18 “And the rest in length opposite the oblation of the holy portion shall be ten thousand eastward and ten thousand westward. And it shall be opposite the oblation of the holy portion. And its increase shall be for food to those who serve in the city.
19 “And those who serve in the city shall be from all the tribes of Israel who shall serve it.
20 “The whole oblation shall be twenty-five thousand and twenty-five thousand. You shall offer this oblation foursquare for the Sanctuary and for the possession of the city.
21 “And the rest shall be for the princes on one side and on the other of the oblation of the Sanctuary and of the possession of the city, next to the twenty-five thousand of the oblation toward the east border. And westward, next to the twenty-five thousand toward the west border, next to the portion of the prince, shall be the holy oblation. And the House of the Sanctuary shall be in its midst.
22 “Moreover, from the possession of the Levites and from the possession of the city, that which is in the midst shall be the prince’s. Between the border of Judah and between the border of Benjamin shall be the prince’s.
23 “And the rest of the tribes shall be thus: from the east part to the west part, Benjamin shall be a portion.
24 “And by the border of Benjamin, from the East Side to the West Side, Simeon shall be a portion.
25 “And by the border of Simeon, from the east part to the west part, Issachar shall be a portion.
26 “And by the border of Issachar, from the East Side to the West, Zebulun shall be a portion
27 And by the border of Zebulun, from the east part to the west part, Gad shall be a portion.
28 “And by the border of Gad, on the South Side, toward Temath, the border shall be from Tamar to the waters of Meribah in Kadesh and to the river that runs into the main sea.
29 “This is the land which you shall distribute to the tribes of Israel for an inheritance. And these are their portions,” says the Lord GOD.
30 “And these are the boundaries of the city: five hundred four thousand measures on the North Side.
31 “And the gates of the city shall be named after the names of the tribes of Israel: The North Gates — one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi.
32 “And at the East Side shall be five hundred four thousand, with three gates — one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan.
33 “And at the South Side shall be five hundred four thousand measures, and three ports — one gate of Simeon, one gate of Issachar, one gate of Zebulun.
34 “On the West Side shall be five hundred four thousand, with their three gates — one gate of Gad, one gate of Asher, one gate of Naphtali.
35 “All around shall be eighteen thousand. And the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE.”
11 Dearly beloved, I urge you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.
12 And have your behavior be honorable among the Gentiles, so that those who speak against you as evil doers may, by your good works which they shall see, glorify God on the Day of visitation.
13 Therefore, submit yourselves to every institution of man, for the Lord’s sake; whether it is to the king (as superior),
14 or to governors (those sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do well).
15 For such is the will of God: that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men;
16 as free—yet not having freedom be a cloak for evil—but as servants of God.
17 Honor the whole brotherhood. Love brotherly fellowship. Fear God. Honor the King.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and courteous, but also to the crooked.
19 For this is grace: if anyone - for the sake of conscience toward God - endures grief, suffering wrongly.
20 For what praise is it, if when you are mistreated for your faults, you take it patiently? But if you suffer when you do well, and take it patiently, this is acceptable to God.
21 For you are called to this. For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you could follow His steps.
22 “He did no sin. Nor was there guile found in His mouth.”
23 When He was reviled, He did not revile in return. When He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed it to Him Who judges righteously.
24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we, being dead to sin, would live in righteousness. “By His wounds you were healed.”
25 For you were as sheep, going astray, but now are returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
3 Likewise, let the wives be subject to their husbands, so that even those who do not obey the Word may be won by the behavior of the wives (without word)
2 while they observe your upright conduct, which is with fear.
3 Do not let your adornment be outward, braiding your hair or putting on gold or worldly garments.
4 But let it be the inner man of the heart - an incorruptible meek and quiet spirit - which is a very valuable thing before God.
5 For in the past also, the holy women who trusted in God adorned themselves in this way, and were subject to their husbands,
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him ‘Lord’. You are her daughters, doing good and not easily fearful.
7 Likewise, husbands, dwell with them as men of knowledge, giving honor to the woman - as to the weaker vessel, and as you would to those who are co-heirs of the grace of life - so that your prayers are not interrupted.
ZAIN
49 Remember the Promise made to Your servant, wherein You have caused me to trust.
50 It is my comfort in my trouble. Your Promise has quickened me.
51 The proud deride me exceedingly, yet have I not turned away from Your Law.
52 I remembered Your Judgments of old, O LORD, and have been comforted.
53 Burning indignation has come upon me because of the wicked, who forsake Your Law.
54 Your Statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.
55 I have remembered Your Name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept Your Law.
56 This is because I kept Your Precepts.
CHETH
57 O LORD, Who are my portion, I have determined to keep Your Words.
58 I made my supplication in Your presence with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to Your Promise.
59 I have considered my ways and turned my feet to Your Testimonies.
60 I moved quickly and did not delay in keeping Your Commandments.
61 Bands of the wicked have robbed me, but I have not forgotten Your Law.
62 At midnight will I rise and give thanks to You because of Your righteous Judgments.
63 I am companion of all those who fear You and keep Your Precepts.
64 O LORD, the Earth is full of Your mercy, teach me Your Statutes.
12 When the righteous rejoice, there is great glory. But when the wicked arise, man is disguised.
13 He who hides his sins shall not prosper. But he who confesses and forsakes them, shall have mercy.
