Adventure Bible Family Devotions

Duration: 365 days
Pass it On!

“Where are they?” Kendra whimpered, gripping Tammy’s hand as they searched through the crowd. Tammy looked down. Her little sister was about to cry. Tammy was pretty upset herself. At the arts festival in the city, they’d gotten separated from their mom and dad. The festival was huge. Thousands of people had come to view artwork, listen to music, and enjoy the food. How was she going to find her parents? Tammy prayed silently. She told God how worried she was. She asked him for help. Then Psalm 23 came to her mind, and the image of God as a shepherd reassured her.

“Don’t worry, Kendra,” she said. “God’s with us, and he’ll lead us back to Mom and Dad.” Kendra smiled at her. A few minutes later Tammy spotted an information booth. “Look, Kendra! They can make an announcement, and Mom and Dad will be able to find us.”

God comforts you when you’re in distress because he loves you. He also does it so he can comfort others through you. People you know may be facing the same troubles you are. Or they may be struggling with problems you’ve faced in the past. Share with them the comfort God has given you.

Bible Verse: [God] comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. - 2 Corinthians 1:4

Words to Treasure: The Lord comforts his people. – Isaiah 49:13
