How Many Times Must You Forgive?

Throughout the Bible, the number seven represents completion or perfection.

Here in Matthew 18:21–22, Jesus uses seventy-seven times as a phrase to illustrate abundant completeness. Peter probably thought forgiving someone seven times was gracious, but Jesus surpasses his assumptions and calls him to lead a life of radical forgiveness.

Jesus ultimately modeled that level of forgiveness when he died for the sins of his people. The question then becomes, if Jesus paid everything to forgive my sins, who am I to not forgive others?
