Death Is Not the End of the Story

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:1-6

Jesus is right now—this very minute—working on a place in heaven for all who believe in him. The place will have lots of rooms and will last forever. Sometime in the future Jesus will return to earth, gather all believers of all time, and bring them to this place of many rooms.

REMEMBER: As believers in Jesus, we have a story that will go on and on. Death is not the end. Jesus offers us a future in heaven. He tells us in John 14:6 that:

He is “the way” (he’s how we get to God our Father).

He is “the truth” (everything about Jesus is true; no lies of any kind).

He is “the life” (we will live forever with him).

What a wonderful future we have!
