Salvation

Surely God is my salvation;
  I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense;
  he has become my salvation.”
3 With joy you will draw water
  from the wells of salvation.

Isaiah 12:2-3

Our salvation does not depend on us. So let’s all take a moment to breathe a deep sigh of relief.

That doesn’t mean you won’t have doubts about your eternal status from time to time. Doubt is inevitable. Especially when it involves something that seems too good to be true. Doubt is a good thing when it causes you to shake your head in amazement and say, “Lord, I can’t believe how much you love me.” But when your doubt starts to put distance between you and God, it’s time to re-read Isaiah 12. God holds your salvation. Who could you trust more with it?
