Tabernacle Workmen
10 ‘(A)Let every skillful man among you come, and make all that the Lord has commanded: 11 the [a](B)tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its [b]sockets; 12 the (C)ark and its poles, the [c]mercy seat, and the curtain of the screen; 13 the (D)table and its poles, and all its [d]utensils, and the bread of the [e]Presence; 14 the (E)lampstand also for the light and its utensils and its lamps and the oil for the light; 15 and the (F)altar of incense and its poles, and the (G)anointing oil and the (H)fragrant incense, and the screen for the doorway at the [f]entrance of the tabernacle; 16 (I)the altar of burnt offering with its [g]bronze grating, its poles, and all its [h]utensils, the [i]basin and its stand; 17 (J)the hangings of the court, its pillars and its [j]sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court; 18 the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the court and their cords; 19 the [k](K)woven garments for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests.’”

20 Then all the congregation of the sons of Israel departed from Moses’ presence. 21 (L)Everyone whose heart [l]stirred him and everyone whose spirit [m]moved him came and brought the Lord’s [n]contribution for the work of the tent of meeting and for all its service and for the holy garments. 22 Then all [o]whose hearts moved them, both men and women, came and brought brooches and [p]earrings and signet rings and bracelets, all articles of gold; so did every man who [q]presented an offering of gold to the Lord. 23 Every man, [r]who had in his possession [s]blue and purple and scarlet material and fine linen and goats’ hair and rams’ skins [t]dyed red and porpoise skins, brought them. 24 Everyone who could make a [u]contribution of silver and [v]bronze brought the Lord’s [w]contribution; and every man [x]who had in his possession acacia wood for any work of the service brought it. 25 All the [y]skilled women spun with their hands, and brought what they had spun, in [z]blue and purple and scarlet material and in fine linen. 26 All the women whose heart [aa]stirred with a skill spun the goats’ hair. 27 The rulers brought the onyx stones and the stones for setting for the ephod and for the [ab]breastpiece; 28 and (M)the spice and the oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense. 29 The [ac]Israelites, all the men and women, whose heart [ad]moved them to bring material for all the work, which the Lord had commanded through Moses to be done, brought a (N)freewill offering to the Lord.
30 (O)Then Moses said to the sons of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 31 And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding and in knowledge and in all [ae]craftsmanship; 32 [af]to make designs for working in gold and in silver and in [ag]bronze, 33 and in the cutting of stones for settings and in the carving of wood, so as to perform in every inventive work. 34 He also has put in his heart to teach, both he and (P)Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. 35 (Q)He has filled them with [ah]skill to perform every work of an engraver and of a designer and of an embroiderer, in [ai]blue and in purple and in scarlet material, and in fine linen, and of a weaver, as performers of every work and makers of designs.
The Tabernacle Underwritten
36 “Now Bezalel and Oholiab, and every [aj]skillful person in whom the Lord has put [ak]skill and understanding to know how to perform all the work [al]in the construction of the sanctuary, shall perform in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded.”
2 Then Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every [am]skillful person in [an]whom the Lord had put [ao]skill, (R)everyone whose heart stirred him, to come to the work to perform it. 3 They received from Moses all the [ap]contributions which the sons of Israel had brought [aq]to perform the work [ar]in the construction of the sanctuary. And they still continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning. 4 And all the [as]skillful men who were performing all the work of the sanctuary came, each from [at]the work which [au]he was performing, 5 and they said to [av]Moses, “(S)The people are bringing much more than enough for the [aw]construction work which the Lord commanded us to [ax]perform.” 6 So Moses issued a command, and a [ay]proclamation was circulated throughout the camp, saying, “Let no man or woman any longer perform work for the [az]contributions of the sanctuary.” Thus the people were restrained from bringing any more. 7 (T)For the [ba]material they had was sufficient and more than enough for all the work, to perform it.
Construction Proceeds
8 (U)All the [bb]skillful men among those who were performing the work made the [bc]tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twisted linen and [bd]blue and purple and scarlet material, with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman, [be]Bezalel made them. 9 The length of each curtain was twenty-eight [bf]cubits and the width of each curtain four [bg]cubits; all the curtains had [bh]the same measurements. 10 He [bi]joined five curtains to one another and the other five curtains he [bj]joined to one another. 11 He made loops of [bk]blue on the edge of the [bl]outermost curtain in the first [bm]set; he did likewise on the edge of the curtain that was [bn]outermost in the second [bo]set. 12 He made (V)fifty loops in the one curtain and he made fifty loops on the [bp]edge of the curtain that was in the second [bq]set; the loops were opposite each other. 13 He made (W)fifty clasps of gold and [br]joined the curtains to one another with the clasps, so the tabernacle was [bs]a unit.
14 Then (X)he made curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains [bt]in all. 15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits and four cubits the width of each curtain; the eleven curtains had [bu]the same measurements. 16 He [bv]joined five curtains by themselves and the other six curtains by themselves. 17 Moreover, he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the first [bw]set, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the second [bx]set. 18 He made fifty clasps of [by]bronze to [bz]join the tent together so that it would be [ca]a unit. 19 He made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins [cb]dyed red, and a covering of porpoise skins above.
20 (Y)Then he made the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing upright. 21 Ten cubits was the length of [cc]each board and one and a half cubits the width of each board. 22 There were two tenons for each board, [cd]fitted to one another; thus he did for all the boards of the tabernacle. 23 He made the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards [ce]for the south side; 24 and he made forty [cf]sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two [cg]sockets under one board for its two tenons and two [ch]sockets under another board for its two tenons. 25 Then for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty boards, 26 and their forty [ci]sockets of silver; two [cj]sockets under one board and two [ck]sockets under another board. 27 For the [cl]rear of the tabernacle, to the west, he made six boards. 28 He made two boards for the corners of the [cm]tabernacle at the [cn]rear. 29 They were double beneath, and together they were complete to its [co]top [cp]to the first ring; thus he did with both of them for the two corners. 30 There were eight boards with their [cq]sockets of silver, sixteen [cr]sockets, [cs]two under every board.
31 Then he made (Z)bars of acacia wood, five for the boards of one side of the tabernacle, 32 and five bars for the boards of the [ct]other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the [cu]rear side to the west. 33 He made the middle bar to pass through in the [cv]center of the boards from end to end. 34 He overlaid the boards with gold and made their rings of gold as holders for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
35 (AA)Moreover, he made the veil of [cw]blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen; he made it with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman. 36 He made four pillars of acacia for it, and overlaid them with gold, with their hooks of gold; and he cast four [cx]sockets of silver for them. 37 He made a (AB)screen for the doorway of the tent, of [cy]blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen, the work of a [cz]weaver; 38 and he made its (AC)five pillars with their hooks, and he overlaid their tops and their [da]bands with gold; but their five [db]sockets were of [dc]bronze.
32 (A)As they were coming out, they found a man of (B)Cyrene named Simon, [a]whom they pressed into service to bear His cross.
The Crucifixion
33 (C)And when they came to a place called (D)Golgotha, which means Place of a Skull, 34 (E)they gave Him (F)wine to drink mixed with gall; and after tasting it, He was unwilling to drink.
35 And when they had crucified Him, (G)they divided up His garments among themselves by casting [b]lots. 36 And sitting down, they began to (H)keep watch over Him there. 37 And above His head they put up the charge against Him [c]which read, “(I)THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
38 At that time two robbers *were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left. 39 And those passing by were [d]hurling abuse at Him, (J)wagging their heads 40 and saying, “(K)You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! (L)If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.” 41 In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him and saying, 42 “(M)He saved others; [e]He cannot save Himself. (N)He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him. 43 (O)He trusts in God; let God rescue Him now, if He [f]delights in Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” 44 (P)The robbers who had been crucified with Him were also insulting Him with the same words.
45 (Q)Now from the [g]sixth hour darkness [h]fell upon all the land until the [i]ninth hour. 46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “(R)Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” 47 And some of those who were standing there, when they heard it, began saying, “This man is calling for Elijah.” 48 (S)Immediately one of them ran, and taking a sponge, he filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and gave Him a drink. 49 But the rest of them said, “[j]Let us see whether Elijah will come to save Him[k].” 50 And Jesus (T)cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. 51 (U)And behold, (V)the [l]veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and (W)the earth shook and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the [m]saints who had (X)fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered (Y)the holy city and appeared to many. 54 (Z)Now the centurion, and those who were with him (AA)keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw (AB)the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly this was [n](AC)the Son of God!”
55 (AD)Many women were there looking on from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee while [o](AE)ministering to Him. 56 Among them was (AF)Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and (AG)the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
Jesus Is Buried
57 (AH)When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. 58 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. 59 And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled (AI)a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away. 61 And (AJ)Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the grave.
62 Now on the next day, [p]the day after (AK)the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate, 63 and said, “Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘(AL)After three days I am to rise again.’ 64 Therefore, give orders for the grave to be made secure until the third day, otherwise His disciples may come and steal Him away and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.” 65 Pilate said to them, “You have a (AM)guard; go, make it as secure as you know how.” 66 And they went and made the grave secure, and along with (AN)the guard they set a (AO)seal on (AP)the stone.
The Lord, a Provider and Deliverer.
A Psalm of David when he [a]feigned madness before [b]Abimelech, who drove him away and he departed.
34 I will (A)bless the Lord at all times;
His (B)praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul will (C)make its boast in the Lord;
The (D)humble will hear it and rejoice.
3 O (E)magnify the Lord with me,
And let us (F)exalt His name together.
4 I (G)sought the Lord, and He answered me,
And (H)delivered me from all my fears.
5 They (I)looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will (J)never be ashamed.
6 This [c]poor man cried, and (K)the Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The (L)angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
And rescues them.
