Northern Palestine Taken
11 Then it came about, when Jabin king of (A)Hazor heard of it, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon and to the king of Shimron and to the king of Achshaph, 2 and to the kings who were of the north in the hill country, and in the (B)Arabah—south of [a]Chinneroth and in the lowland and on the [b]heights of Dor on the west— 3 to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Jebusite in the hill country, and (C)the Hivite [c]at the foot of (D)Hermon in the land of (E)Mizpeh. 4 They came out, they and all their armies with them, (F)as many people as the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots. 5 So all of these kings having agreed to meet, came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
6 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “(G)Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow at this time I will deliver all of them slain before Israel; you shall (H)hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.” 7 So Joshua and all the people of war with him came upon them suddenly by the waters of Merom, and attacked them. 8 The Lord delivered them into the hand of Israel, so that they [d]defeated them, and pursued them as far as Great Sidon and (I)Misrephoth-maim and the valley of (J)Mizpeh to the east; and they struck them until no survivor was left to them. 9 Joshua did to them as the Lord had told him; he (K)hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
10 Then Joshua turned back at that time, and captured (L)Hazor and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor formerly was the head of all these kingdoms. 11 (M)They struck every person who was in it with the edge of the sword, [e]utterly destroying them; there was no one left who breathed. And he burned Hazor with fire. 12 Joshua captured all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; just (N)as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded. 13 However, Israel did not burn any cities that stood on their mounds, except Hazor alone, which Joshua burned. 14 (O)All the spoil of these cities and the cattle, the sons of Israel took as their plunder; but they struck every man with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They left no one who breathed. 15 Just as the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.
16 Thus Joshua took all that land: (P)the hill country and all the [f]Negev, all that land of Goshen, the lowland, (Q)the Arabah, the hill country of Israel and its lowland 17 from (R)Mount Halak, that rises toward Seir, even as far as Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon [g]at the foot of Mount Hermon. And he captured (S)all their kings and struck them down and put them to death. 18 Joshua waged war a long time with all these kings. 19 There was not a city which made peace with the sons of Israel except (T)the Hivites living in Gibeon; they took them all in battle. 20 (U)For it was of the Lord to [h]harden their hearts, to meet Israel in battle in order that he might (V)utterly destroy them, that they might [i]receive no mercy, but that he might destroy them, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
21 Then Joshua came at that time and cut off (W)the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab and from all the hill country of Judah and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities. 22 There were no Anakim left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in (X)Gath, and in (Y)Ashdod some remained. 23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had spoken to Moses, and (Z)Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. (AA)Thus the land had rest from war.
Kings Defeated by Israel
12 Now these are the (AB)kings of the land whom the sons of Israel [j]defeated, and whose land they possessed beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the valley of the Arnon as far as Mount Hermon, and all the Arabah to the east: 2 Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and ruled (AC)from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, both the middle of the valley and half of Gilead, even as far as the brook Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon; 3 and the (AD)Arabah as far as the Sea of [k]Chinneroth toward the east, and as far as the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward [l]toward (AE)Beth-jeshimoth, and on the south, [m]at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah; 4 and the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of (AF)the remnant of Rephaim, who lived at (AG)Ashtaroth and at Edrei, 5 and ruled over Mount Hermon and (AH)Salecah and all Bashan, as far as (AI)the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half of Gilead, as far as the border of Sihon king of Heshbon. 6 Moses the servant of the Lord and the sons of Israel [n]defeated them; and (AJ)Moses the servant of the Lord gave it to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh as a possession.
7 Now these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the sons of Israel [o]defeated beyond the Jordan toward the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon even as far as (AK)Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir; and Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions, 8 in (AL)the hill country, in the lowland, in the Arabah, on the slopes, and in the wilderness, and in the [p]Negev; the Hittite, the Amorite and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite: 9 the (AM)king of Jericho, one; the (AN)king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one; 10 the (AO)king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one; 11 the king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one; 12 the king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one; 13 the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one; 14 the king of Hormah, one; the king of (AP)Arad, one; 15 the king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one; 16 the king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one; 17 the king of Tappuah, one; the (AQ)king of Hepher, one; 18 the king of (AR)Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one; 19 the king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one; 20 the king of Shimron-meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one; 21 the king of Taanach, one; the king of Megiddo, one; 22 the king of (AS)Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam in Carmel, one; 23 the king of Dor in the [q]heights of Dor, one; the king of (AT)Goiim in Gilgal, one; 24 the king of Tirzah, one: (AU)in all, thirty-one kings.
Ten Lepers Cleansed
11 While He was (A)on the way to Jerusalem, (B)He was passing [a]between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As He entered a village, ten leprous men who (C)stood at a distance met Him; 13 and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, (D)Master, have mercy on us!” 14 When He saw them, He said to them, “(E)Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they were going, they were cleansed. 15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, (F)glorifying God with a loud voice, 16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a (G)Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine—where are they? 18 [b]Was no one found who returned to (H)give glory to God, except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Stand up and go; (I)your faith [c]has made you well.”
20 Now having been questioned by the Pharisees (J)as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with [d](K)signs to be observed; 21 nor will (L)they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is [e]in your midst.”
Second Coming Foretold
22 And He said to the disciples, “(M)The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 (N)They will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them. 24 (O)For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part [f]of the sky, shines to the other part [g]of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25 (P)But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 (Q)And just as it happened (R)in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 [h]It was the same as happened in (S)the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and [i]brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be [j]just the same on the day that the Son of Man (T)is revealed. 31 On that day, the one who is (U)on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back. 32 (V)Remember Lot’s wife. 33 (W)Whoever seeks to keep his [k]life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 (X)There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left. 36 [[l](Y)Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”] 37 And answering they *said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “(Z)Where the body is, there also the [m]vultures will be gathered.”

84 How lovely are Your (A)dwelling places,
O Lord of hosts!
2 My (B)soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the (C)living God.
3 The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,
Even Your (D)altars, O Lord of hosts,
(E)My King and my God.
4 How (F)blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are (G)ever praising You. [b]Selah.
5 How blessed is the man whose (H)strength is in You,
In [c]whose heart are the (I)highways to Zion!
6 Passing through the valley of [d]Baca they make it a [e]spring;
The (J)early rain also covers it with blessings.
7 They (K)go from strength to strength,
[f]Every one of them (L)appears before God in Zion.
8 O (M)Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O (N)God of Jacob! Selah.
9 Behold our (O)shield, O God,
And look upon the face of (P)Your anointed.
10 For (Q)a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is (R)a sun and (S)shield;
The Lord gives grace and (T)glory;
(U)No good thing does He withhold [g]from those who walk [h]uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts,
How (V)blessed is the man who trusts in You!
