Forgiveness For All

By Stephanie Perry Moore & Brenda Noel

Sisters in Faith

There is one word operative in the Christian church that makes all the difference; it is a word that only those washed in the blood of the lamb can understand—that word is “forgiven.” The only one who ever lived without sin was Christ himself; everyone else who has ever walked this earth knows sin only too well. The Bible is filled with examples of sinful people who were used mightily of God: Peter denied Christ, David lusted after Bathsheba, Moses grew angry toward God. Being a Christian is not about being perfect; if it were, none of us would be able to be counted as followers of Christ. Being a Christian is about accepting the forgiveness only Christ can bring us. When you see sin in the lives of those around you, rather than judge the sinful behavior, rejoice in the fact that forgiveness is available to all who will call on the name of Jesus. (3, p. 1144)
