Bible in 90 Days
25 To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
2 My God, I trust in You. Let me not be confounded. Do not let my enemies rejoice over me.
3 So all who hope in You shall not be ashamed. Let those who transgress without cause be confounded.
4 Show me Your ways, O LORD, and teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me forth in Your truth and teach me. For You are the God of my salvation. In You do I trust, all the day.
6 Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies, and Your lovingkindness. For they have been forever.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my rebellions. But according to Your kindness remember me, for Your goodness’ sake, O LORD.
8 Gracious and righteous are the LORD. Therefore, He will teach sinners in the way.
9 Those who are meek, He will guide in judgment and teach the humble His way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For Your Name’s sake, O LORD, be merciful to my iniquity. For it is great.
12 What man is he who fears the LORD? He will teach him the way he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the land.
14 The secret of the LORD is revealed to those who fear Him, and His Covenant, to give them understanding.
15 My eyes are ever toward the LORD. For He will bring my feet out of the net.
16 Turn Your face to me; and have mercy upon me. For I am desolate and poor.
17 The sorrows of my heart are enlarged. Draw me out of my troubles.
18 Look upon my affliction, and my travail, and forgive all my sins.
19 Behold my enemies, for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 Keep my soul and deliver me. Let me not be confounded; for I trust in You.
21 Let my uprightness and equity preserve me; for my hope is in You.
22 Deliver Israel, O God, out of all its troubles. A Psalm of David.
26 Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in my innocence. My trust has also been in the LORD. Therefore, I shall not slide.
2 Test me, O LORD, and try me. Examine my core and my heart.
3 For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes. Therefore, I have walked in Your truth.
4 I have not dwelt with frivolous people, nor kept company with the deceitful.
5 I have hated the assembly of the evil and have not kept company with the wicked.
6 I will wash my hands in innocence, O LORD, and surround Your altar.
7 So that I may declare with the voice of thanksgiving and set forth all Your wondrous works.
8 O LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your honor dwells.
9 Do not gather my soul with the sinners, nor my life with the bloody men,
10 in whose hands are wickedness, and their right hands are full of bribes.
11 But I will walk in my innocence. Redeem me and be merciful to me.
12 My foot stands in uprightness. I will praise You, O LORD, in the Congregations. A Psalm of David.
27 The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked—even my enemies—and my foes came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army encamped against me, my heart shall not be afraid. Though war is raised against me, I will trust in this.
4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that I will require: That I may dwell in the House of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to visit His Temple.
5 For in the time of trouble, He shall hide me in His Tabernacle. In the secret place of His pavilion, He shall hide me and set me up upon a rock.
6 And now, He shall lift up my head above my enemies all around me. Therefore, I will offer sacrifices of joy in His Tabernacle. I will sing and praise the LORD.
7 Hear my voice, O LORD, when I cry. Have mercy, also, upon me and hear me.
8 When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart answered You, “O LORD, I will seek Your face.”
9 Do not hide, therefore, Your face from me, nor cast Your servant away in displeasure. You have been my succor; do not leave me or forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 Though my father and my mother should forsake me, yet the LORD will gather me up.
11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, and lead me in a right path, because of my enemies.
12 Do not give me to the lust of my adversaries. For there are false witnesses risen up against me, and such as speak cruelly.
13 I should have fainted, except I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14 Hope in the LORD. Be strong, and He shall comfort Your heart; and trust in the LORD. A Psalm of David.
28 To You, O LORD, do I cry. O my strength, do not be deaf toward me; lest if You do not answer me, I be like those who go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my petitions when I cry to You, when I hold up my hands toward Your Holy Oracle.
3 Do not draw me away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity, who speak friendly to their neighbors when malice is in their hearts.
4 Reward them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. Recompense them for the work of their hands. Render them their reward.
5 For they do not reward the works of the LORD, nor the operation of His hands. Break them down and do not build them up.
6 Praised be the LORD, for He has heard the voice of my petitions.
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted in Him, and I was helped. Therefore, my heart shall rejoice; and with my song I will praise Him.
8 The LORD is their strength; and He is the strength of the deliverances of His anointed.
9 Save Your people and bless Your inheritance. Feed them, also, and exalt them forever. A Psalm of David.
29 Give to the LORD, you sons of the Mighty. Give to the LORD glory and strength.
2 Give to the LORD glory due His Name. Worship the LORD in the glorious Sanctuary.
3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters. The God of Glory makes it thunder. The LORD is upon the great waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is mighty. The voice of the LORD is glorious.
5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars. Indeed, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He also makes them leap like a calf, Lebanon and Shirion like a young unicorn.
7 The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.
8 The voice of the LORD makes the wilderness tremble. The LORD makes the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.
9 The voice of the LORD makes the hinds calve and discovers the forests. In His Temple, every man speaks of His Glory.
10 The LORD sits upon the floods; and the LORD remains King forever.
11 The LORD shall give strength to His people. The LORD shall bless His people with peace. A Psalm or song of the dedication of the House of David.
30 I will magnify You, O LORD. You have exalted me and have not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 O LORD, my God, I cried to You; and You have restored me.
3 O LORD, You have brought up my soul out of the grave. You have revived me from those who go down into the pit.
4 Sing praises to the LORD, His Saints, and give thanks before the remembrance of His Holiness.
5 For His anger endures but a while. In His favor is life. Weeping may abide at evening, but joy comes in the morning.
6 And in my prosperity, I said, “I shall never be moved.”
7 For You, LORD, from Your goodness, had made my mountain to stand strong. You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
8 Then I cried to You, O LORD, and prayed to my LORD.
9 What profit is there in my blood when I go down to the pit! Shall the dust give thanks to You? Or shall it declare Your Truth?
10 Hear, O LORD; and have mercy upon me. LORD, be my Helper.
11 You have turned my mourning into joy. You have loosened my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.
12 Therefore, my tongue shall praise You, and not cease. O LORD, my God, I will give thanks to You forever. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.
31 In You, O LORD, have I put my trust. Let me never be confounded. Deliver me in Your righteousness.
2 Bow down Your ear to me. Make haste to deliver me. Be to me a strong rock, a house of defense to save me.
3 For You are my rock and my fortress. Therefore, direct me and guide me for Your Name’s sake.
4 Draw me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me. For You are my strength.
5 Into Your hand I commend My spirit. For You have redeemed me, O LORD God of Truth.
6 I have hated those who give themselves to deceitful vanities; for I trust in the LORD.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy. For You have seen my trouble. You have known my soul in adversities.
8 And You have not shut me up in the hand of the enemy but have set my feet in an open space.
9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble. My eye, my soul and my belly are consumed with grief.
10 For my life is wasted with heaviness, and my years with mourning. My strength fails because of my pain; and my bones are consumed.
11 I was a reproach among all my enemies — but especially among my neighbors — and a fear to my acquaintances. Who, seeing me in the street, fled from me.
12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind. I am like a broken vessel.
13 For I have heard the railing of great men. Fear was on every side, while they conspired together against me and consulted to take my life.
14 But I trusted in You, O LORD. I said, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in Your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your face to shine upon Your servant. Save me through Your mercy.
17 Let me not be confounded, O LORD, for I have called upon You. Let the wicked be put to confusion, to silence, in the grave.
18 Let the lying lips which cruelly, proudly, and spitefully speak against the righteous be made dumb.
19 How great is Your goodness which You have laid up for those who fear You; and done to those who trust in You before the sons of men!
20 You hide them from the pride of men in the secret place of Your presence. You keep them secretly in Your Tabernacle from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be the LORD. For He has shown His marvelous kindness toward me in a strong city.
22 Though I said in my haste, “I am cast out of Your sight!” Still, You heard the voice of my prayer when I cried to You.
23 Love the LORD, all His saints. The LORD preserves the faithful and abundantly repays the proud.
24 All you who trust in the LORD, be strong; and He shall establish your heart. A Psalm of David, to give instruction.
32 Blessed is he whose wickedness is forgiven; whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3 When I held my tongue (my bones being consumed when I roared all day,
4 for Your hand is heavy upon me day and night) and my moisture turned into the drought of Summer (Selah),
5 I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my iniquity. I thought, “I will confess to the LORD my wickedness against myself.” And You forgave the punishment of my sin. Selah.
6 Therefore, everyone who is godly shall make his prayer to You in a time when You may be found. Surely, in the flood of great waters they shall not come near him.
7 You are my Secret Place. You preserve me from trouble. You surround me with joyful deliverance. Selah.
8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you shall go. I will guide you with My eye.
9 “Be not like a horse, or like a mule, which do not understand; whose mouths you bind with bit and bridle, lest they come near you.”
10 Many sorrows shall come to the wicked. But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.
11 Be glad, you righteous, and rejoice in the LORD; and be joyful, all you who are upright in heart!
33 Rejoice in the LORD, O righteous! It becomes upright men to be thankful.
2 Praise the LORD with harp! Sing to Him with viol and instrument of ten strings!
3 Sing to Him a new song! Sing cheerfully with a loud voice!
4 For the Word of the LORD is righteous; and all His works are faithful.
5 He loves righteousness and judgment. The Earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
6 By the Word of the LORD were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea together, as upon a heap, and lays up the depths in His treasures.
8 Let all the Earth fear the LORD. Let all those who dwell in the world, fear Him.
9 For He spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood.
10 The LORD breaks the counsel of the heathen and brings the devices of the people to nothing.
11 The counsel of the LORD shall stand forever, and the thoughts of His heart throughout all ages.
12 Blessed is that nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen for His inheritance.
13 The LORD looks down from Heaven, beholding all the children of men.
14 From the habitation of His dwelling he beholds all those who dwell on the Earth.
15 He fashions their hearts, every one, understanding all their works.
16 The king is not saved by the multitude of an army; nor is the mighty man delivered by great strength.
17 A horse is a vain help and shall not deliver by his great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon those who fear Him, upon those who trust in His mercy
19 to deliver their souls from death and to preserve them in famine.
20 Our soul waits for the LORD. He is our Help and our Shield.
21 Surely, our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we trusted in His Holy Name.
22 Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us. As we trusted in You. A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away and he departed.
34 I will always give thanks to the LORD. His praise shall be in my mouth continually.
2 My soul shall glory in the LORD. The humble shall hear it and be glad.
3 Praise the LORD with me; and let us magnify His Name together.
4 I sought the LORD, and He heard me. Indeed, He delivered me out of all my fear.
5 They shall look to Him and run; and their faces shall not be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried; and the LORD heard and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The Angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them.
8 Taste and see how gracious the LORD is. Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.
9 Fear the LORD, you, His saints. For those who fear Him lack nothing.
10 The lions lack and suffer hunger. But those who seek the LORD shall lack nothing that is good.
11 Come children, hear me. I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 What man is he who desires life and loves long days to see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips, so that they speak no deceit.
14 Turn from evil and do good. Seek peace and follow after it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous; and His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off their remembrance from the Earth.
17 The righteous cry and the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The LORD is near to those who are of a contrite heart; and will save such as are afflicted in spirit.
19 Great are the troubles of the righteous. But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all His bones. Not one of them is broken.
21 Malice shall slay the wicked; and those who hate the righteous shall perish.
22 The LORD redeems the souls of His servants; and no one who trusts in Him shall perish. A Psalm of David.
35 Plead my cause, O LORD, with those who strive with me. Fight against those who fight against me.
2 Lay hand upon the shield and buckler; and stand up for my help.
3 Also, bring out the spear, and stop the way against those who persecute me. Say to my soul, “I am Your salvation.”
4 Let those who seek after my soul be confounded and put to shame. Let those who imagine my hurt be turned back and brought to confusion.
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind; and let the Angel of the LORD scatter them.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery; and let the Angel of the LORD persecute them.
7 For without cause, they have hidden the pit and their net for me. Without cause, they have dug a pit for my soul.
8 Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly; and let his net that he has laid secretly, take him. Let him fall into the same destruction.
9 Then my soul shall be joyful in the LORD. It shall rejoice in His salvation.
10 All my bones shall say, “LORD, who is like You, Who delivers the poor from him who is too strong for him; indeed, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him!?”
11 Cruel witnesses arose. They asked things of me that I did not know.
12 They rewarded me evil for good, to spoil my soul.
13 Yet I, when they were sick, I was clothed with sackcloth. I humbled my soul with fasting. And my prayer was turned upon my bosom.
14 I behaved as to my friend, or as to my brother. I humbled myself, mourning as one who bewails his mother.
15 But they rejoiced in my adversity and gathered themselves together. The strikers assembled themselves against me, and I did not know. They tore me and did not cease,
16 with the false scoffers at banquets gnashing their teeth against me.
17 LORD, how long will You behold? Deliver my soul from their tumult, my desolate soul from the lions.
18 I will give You thanks in a great congregation. I will praise You among many people.
19 Do not let those who are my enemies unjustly rejoice over me, nor let those wink with the eye who hate me without a cause.
20 For they do not speak as friends. But they imagine deceitful words against the quiet of the land.
21 And they gaped on me with their mouths, saying, “Aha! Aha! Our eye has seen!”
22 You have seen it, O LORD. Do not keep silent. Do not be far from me, O LORD.
23 Arise and wake to my judgment, even to my cause, my God and my LORD.
24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to Your righteousness; and do not let them rejoice over me.
25 Do not let them say in their hearts, “O, our soul, rejoice.” Nor let them say, “We have devoured him.”
26 Let those who rejoice at my hurt be confounded and put to shame together. Let those who lift themselves up against me be clothed with confusion and shame.
27 Let those who love my righteousness be joyful and glad. Indeed, let those who love the prosperity of His servant say always, “Let the LORD be magnified!”
28 And my tongue shall utter Your righteousness and Your praise every day. To him who excels. A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD.
36 Wickedness says to the wicked man, even in my heart, that there is no fear of God before His eyes.
2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes, while his iniquity is found worthy to be hated.
3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to understand and to do good.
4 He imagines mischief upon his bed. He sets himself upon a way that is not good and does not abhor evil.
5 Your mercy, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, and Your faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains. Your judgments are like a great deep. You, LORD, save man and beast.
7 How excellent is Your mercy, O God! Therefore, the children of men trust under the shadow of Your wings.
8 They shall be satisfied with the fatness of Your House; and You shall give them drink out of the river of Your pleasures.
9 For with You is the well of life; and in Your Light shall we see light.
10 Extend Your lovingkindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to those who are upright in heart.
11 Do not let the foot of pride come against me; and do not let the hand of the wicked men move me.
12 There those who work iniquity have fallen. They are cast down and shall not be able to rise. A Psalm of David.
37 Do not fret because of wicked men, nor be envious of evildoers.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like grass and shall wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD and do good. Dwell in the land, and you shall assuredly be fed.
4 And delight yourself in the LORD; and He shall give you your heart’s desire.
5 Commit your way to the LORD, and trust in Him; and He shall make it so.
6 And He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noon day.
7 Wait patiently upon the LORD, and hope in Him. Do not fret over him who prospers in his way, nor over the man who executes wicked schemes.
8 Cease from anger and abandon wrath. Do not fret. It leads only to evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off; and those who wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the land.
10 Therefore, yet a little while and the wicked shall not appear; and you shall look for his place and he shall not be found.
11 But meek men shall possess the Earth and shall have their delight in the multitude of peace.
12 The wicked practices against the just and gnashes his teeth against him.
13 The LORD shall laugh him to scorn; for He sees that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn their sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy and to slay such as are of upright conversation.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart; and their bows shall be broken.
16 A small thing to the just man is better than great riches to the wicked and mighty.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; but the LORD upholds the just men.
18 The LORD knows the days of upright men; and their inheritance shall be perpetual.
19 They shall not be confounded in the perilous time; and in the days of famine they shall have enough.
20 But the wicked shall perish; and the enemies of the LORD shall be consumed as the fat of lambs. With the smoke, they shall vanish away.
21 The wicked borrows and does not pay again. But the righteous is merciful and gives.
22 For such as are blessed shall inherit the land. And those who are cursed by Him shall be cut off.
23 The paths of man are directed by the LORD; for He loves his way.
24 Though he falls, he shall not be cast off; for the LORD upholds his hand.
25 I have been young and am old. Yet I never saw the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful and lends, and His seed enjoys the blessing.
27 Flee from evil and do good, and dwell forever.
28 For the LORD loves judgment and does not forsake His saints. They shall be preserved forevermore. But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous men shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever.
30 The mouth of the righteous will speak of wisdom; and his tongue will talk of judgment.
31 The Law of his God is in his heart; his steps shall not slide.
32 The wicked watched the righteous and sought to kill him.
33 The LORD will not leave him in His hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the LORD and keep His way; and He shall exalt you, so that you shall inherit the land. When the wicked men shall perish, you shall see.
35 I have seen the wicked strong and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 Yet he passed away; and lo, he was gone. And I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the upright man and behold the just; for the end of that man is peace.
38 But their transgressors shall be destroyed together. The end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous men shall be from the LORD. He shall be their strength in the time of trouble.
40 For the LORD shall help them and deliver them. He shall deliver them from the wicked, and shall save them, because they trust in Him. A Psalm of David, for remembrance.
38 O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger, nor chastise me in Your wrath.
2 For Your arrows have pierced me deeply; and Your hand lies upon me.
3 Because of Your anger, there is nothing sound in my flesh; nor is there rest in my bones because of my sin.
4 For my iniquities have gone over my head; as a weighty burden, they are too heavy for me.
5 My wounds are putrefied, and corrupt, because of my foolishness.
6 I am bowed, and very troubled. I go mourning all day long.
7 For my core is full of burning; and there is nothing sound in my flesh.
8 I am weakened and very broken: I roar for the very grief of my heart.
9 LORD, I pour my whole desire before You; and my sighing is not hidden from You.
10 My heart pants. My strength fails me, and the light of my eyes. Even they are not my own.
11 My lovers and my friends stand aside from my plague; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
12 Also, those who seek after my life lay snares; and those who go about to do me evil talk wicked things and imagine deceit continually.
13 But I, as a deaf man, did not hear. I am as a dumb man who does not open his mouth.
14 Thus I am as a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth are no rebukes.
15 For on You, O LORD, I wait. You will hear, my LORD. My God.
16 For I said, “Hear me, lest they rejoice over me. When my foot slips, they extol themselves against me.”
17 Surely, I am ready to halt; and my sorrow is ever before me.
18 When I declare my pain, and am sorry for my sin,
19 then my enemies are alive and are mighty; and those who hate me wrongfully are many.
20 Also, those who reward evil for good are my adversaries, because I follow goodness.
21 Do not forsake me, O LORD. Do not be far from me, my God.
22 Hasten to help me, O my LORD. My Salvation. To the excellent musician, Jeduthun: A Psalm of David.
39 I thought, “I will guard my ways, so that I do not sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth bridled while the wicked are in my sight.
2 I was dumb and spoke nothing. I kept silent, even from good; and my sorrow was more stirred.
3 My heart was hot within me. While I was musing, the fire kindled and I spoke with my tongue:
4 “LORD, let me know my end, and the measure of my days, what it is. Let me know how long I have to live.”
5 Behold, You have made my days as a handbreadth and my age as nothing in Your sight. Surely, every man is altogether vanity in his best state. Selah.
6 Doubtless, man walks in a shadow, and disquiets himself pointlessly. He heaps up riches and cannot tell who shall gather them.
7 And now LORD, for what do I wait? My hope is even in You.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions, and do not make me a rebuke to the foolish.
9 I should have been dumb, and not have opened my mouth, because You did it.
10 Take Your plague away from me; for I am consumed by the stroke of Your hand.
11 When, with rebukes, You chastise man for iniquity, You make his beauty melt away as a moth. Surely, every man is vanity. Selah.
12 Hear my prayer, O LORD; and hear my cry. Do not keep silent at my tears; for I am a stranger with You and a sojourner, as all my fathers.
13 Keep Your anger from me, so that I may recover my strength before I go away and am no more. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.
40 I waited patiently for the LORD, and He inclined to me and heard my cry.
2 Also, He brought me out of the horrible pit—out of the miry clay—and set my feet upon the rock and ordered my goings.
3 And He has put in my mouth a new song of praise to our God. Many shall see it and fear and shall trust in the LORD.
4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust and does not regard the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 You have made many, O LORD my God, Your wonderful works; so that no one can count to You, in order, Your thoughts toward us. I would declare and speak of them, but they are more than I am able to express.
6 Sacrifice and offering You did not desire (my ears You have prepared). Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
7 Then I said, “Lo, I come. In the roll of the Book it is written of me.
8 “I desired to do Your good will, O my God. Indeed, Your Law is within my heart.”
9 I have declared righteousness in the great congregation. Lo, I will not refrain my lips. O LORD, You know.
10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart. I have declared Your truth and Your salvation. I have not concealed Your mercy and Your truth from the great Congregation.
11 Do not withdraw Your tender mercy from me, O LORD. Let Your mercy and Your truth always preserve me.
12 For innumerable troubles have surrounded me. My sins have taken such hold upon me that I am not able to look up. They are more in number than the hairs of my head. Therefore, my heart has failed me.
13 Let it please You, O LORD, to deliver me. Hurry, O LORD, to help me.
14 Let those who seek my soul to destroy it be confounded and put to shame together. Let those who desire my hurt be driven backward and put to rebuke.
15 Let those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” be destroyed as a reward for their shame,
16 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You, and let those who love Your salvation, say always, “The LORD be praised!”
17 Though I be poor and needy, the LORD thinks on me. You are my Helper and my Deliverer. My God, do not delay. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.
41 Blessed is he who judges wisely of the poor. The LORD shall deliver him in the time of trouble.
2 The LORD will keep him and preserve him alive. He shall be blessed upon the Earth; and You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.
3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of sorrow. You have turned all his bed in his sickness.
4 I said, “LORD have mercy upon me. Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”
5 My enemies speak evil of me, saying, “When shall he die, and his name perish?”
6 And if he come to see me, he speaks lies; his heart heaps iniquity within him. When he comes forth, he tells it.
7 All those who hate me whisper together against me. They imagine my hurt against me, saying,
8 “A mischief lies upon him,” and, “He who lies shall rise no more.”
9 Indeed, my familiar friend whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up the heel against me.
10 Therefore, O LORD, have mercy upon me and raise me up. So shall I reward them.
11 By this I know that You favor me: because my enemy does not triumph against me.
12 And as for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and set me before Your face forever.
13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, world without end! So be it. Even so be it! To him who excels: A Psalm to give instruction, committed to the sons of Korah.
42 As the deer brays for the rivers of water, so panted my soul after You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, even for the living God. When shall I come and appear before the presence of God?
3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me daily, “Where is your God?”
4 When I remembered these things, I poured out my very heart; because I had gone with the multitude and led them into the House of God with the voice of singing and praise, as a multitude that keeps a feast.
5 Why are you cast down, my soul, and unquiet within me? Wait on God; for I will still give Him thanks for the help of His presence.
6 My God, my soul is cast down within me because I remembered You from the land of Jordan, and Hermon, and from the Mount Mizar.
7 One deep calls another deep by the noise of Your waterspouts. All Your waves and Your floods have gone over me.
8 The LORD will grant His lovingkindness in the day; and in the night shall I sing of Him a prayer to the God of my life.
9 I will say to God, my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning when the enemy oppresses?”
10 As a sword shattering my bones, my enemies reproach me, saying daily to me, “Where is your God?”
11 Why are you cast down, my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Wait on God. For I will yet give thanks to Him, to the Face of my Deliverer and my God.
43 Judge me, O God, and defend my cause against the unmerciful people. Deliver me from the deceitful and wicked man.
2 For You are the God of my strength. Why have You put me away? Why do I go so mourning when the enemy oppressed me?
3 Send Your light and Your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your Holy Mountain, and to Your Tabernacles.
4 Then I will go to the altar of God, even to the God of my joy and gladness. And upon the harp will I give thanks to You, O God, my God.
5 Why are You cast down, my soul? And why are You disquieted within me? Wait on God; for I will still give Him thanks, my present help and my God. To him who excels: A Psalm to give instruction, committed to the sons of Korah.
44 We have heard with our ears, O God. Our fathers have told us the works that You have done in their days, in the old time.
2 You have driven out the heathen with Your hand and planted them. You have destroyed the people and caused them to go.
3 For they did not inherit the land by their own sword (nor did their own arm save them) but by Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your countenance; because You favored them.
4 You are my King, O God! Send help to Jacob!
5 Through You we have thrust back our adversaries. By Your Name we have trodden down those who rose up against us.
6 For I do not trust in my bow; nor can my sword save me.
7 But You have saved us from our adversaries and have put those who hate us to confusion.
8 We will praise God continually and will confess Your Name forever. Selah.
9 But now, You are far off and put us to confusion, and do not go forth with our armies.
10 You make us turn back from the adversary, and those who hate us get plunder for themselves.
11 You give us as sheep to be eaten and scatter us among the nations.
12 You sell Your people without gain, and do not increase their price.
13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a jest and laughing stock to those who surround us.
14 You make us a proverb among the nations, and a nodding of the head among the people.
15 My confusion is daily before me and the shame of my face has covered me,
16 because of the voice of the slanderer and rebuker, because of the enemy and avenger.
17 All this has come upon us. Still, we do not forget You. Nor do we deal falsely concerning Your Covenant.
18 Our heart is not turned back, nor have our steps gone out of Your paths;
19 even though You have struck us down into the place of dragons and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 If we have forgotten the Name of our God, and held up our hands to a strange god,
21 shall not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
22 Surely, for Your sake we are killed continually and are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Up! Why do You sleep, O LORD? Awake! Be not far off forever.
24 Why do you hide Your face and forget our misery and our affliction?
25 For our soul is beaten down to the dust. Our belly clings to the ground.
26 Rise up for our succor; and redeem us for Your mercy’s sake. To him who excels on Shoshannim: a song of love to give instruction, committed to the sons of Korah.
45 My heart stirs with good words. I will speak of my works concerning the King. My tongue is as the pen of a swift writer.
2 You are more beautiful than the children of men. Grace is poured in Your lips because God has blessed You forever.
3 Gird Your sword upon Your Thigh, O Most Mighty, Your worship and Your Glory!
4 And prosper with Your Glory! Ride upon the Word of Truth and of humility and of righteousness. So, Your right Hand shall teach You terrible things.
5 Your arrows are sharp to pierce the heart of the king’s enemies. The people shall fall under You.
6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of Your Kingdom is a scepter of righteousness.
7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness, because God, even Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.
8 All Your garments smell of myrrh and aloes and cassia, of the ivory palaces where they have made You glad.
9 King’s daughters were among Your honorable women. Upon Your right hand stood the queen in a vesture of gold of Ophir.
10 Hear, O daughter, and consider and incline your ear. Also, forget your own people and your father’s house.
11 So shall the King have pleasure in your beauty; for He is your LORD. And reverence Him.
12 And the daughter of Tyre, with the rich of the people, shall do homage before your face with presents.
13 The King’s daughter is all glorious within. Her clothing is of embroidered gold.
14 She shall be brought to the King in clothing of needlework. The virgins who follow after her (her companions) shall be brought to You.
