Version
Leviticus 25:47-27:13

47 And if a sojourner or stranger who is with thee becomes rich and thy brother who is with him becomes poor and sells himself unto the stranger or sojourner who is with thee or to the race of the lineage of the stranger,

48 after he is sold he shall have redemption; one of his brethren shall redeem him;

49 either his uncle or his uncle’s son shall redeem him; or any that is near of kin unto him of his lineage shall redeem him; or if he is able, he may redeem himself.

50 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubilee; and the price of his sale shall be according to the number of years, according to the time of a hired servant shall it be with him.

51 If there are yet many years, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

52 And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubilee, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.

53 And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him; and the other shall not rule with rigor over him in thy sight.

54 And if he is not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubilee, both he and his children with him.

55 For the sons of Israel are mine; they are my slaves whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt. I AM your God.

26 ¶ Ye shall make no idols for yourselves nor graven image, neither shall you raise up a title, neither shall ye place any painted stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I AM your God.

Keep my sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

If ye walk in my statutes and keep my commandments and do them,

then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

And your threshing shall last unto the vintage, and the vintage shall last unto the sowing time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land safely.

For I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and no one shall make you afraid; and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

And five of you shall chase one hundred, and one hundred of you shall put ten thousands to flight; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

For I will return unto you and make you fruitful and multiply you and establish my covenant with you.

10 And ye shall eat old store and bring forth the old because of the new.

11 And I will set my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you.

12 And I will walk among you and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

13 I AM your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their slaves; and I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk with your faces uplifted.

14 ¶ But if ye will not hearken unto me and will not do all these my commandments;

15 and if ye shall despise my statutes or if your soul should abhor my rights so that ye will not do all my commandments but that ye break my covenant,

16 I also will do this unto you: I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague that shall consume the eyes and torment the soul, and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

17 And I will place my wrath upon you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies; those that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when no one pursues you.

18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.

19 And I will break the pride of your stronghold, and I will make your heaven as iron and your earth as bronze.

20 And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

21 And if ye walk contrary unto me and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

22 I will also send wild beasts among you which shall rapture your children and destroy your animals and make you few in number, and your ways shall be desolate.

23 And if ye will not be corrected by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me,

24 then will I also walk contrary unto you and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.

25 And I will bring an avenging sword upon you, in vindication of the covenant; and ye shall gather together within your cities; but I will send pestilence among you, and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

26 When I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight, and ye shall eat and not be satisfied.

27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me but walk contrary unto me,

28 then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury, and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

30 And I will destroy your high places and cut down your images and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.

31 And I will make your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the aroma of your suave incense.

32 And I will bring the land into desolation, and your enemies who dwell therein shall be astonished at it.

33 And I will scatter you among the Gentiles and will draw out a sword after you, and your land shall be desolate and your cities waste.

34 Then shall the land rest for her sabbaths all the days that it lies desolate, while you are in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land rest and enjoy her sabbaths.

35 All the time that it shall be desolate, it shall rest that which it did not rest in your sabbaths when ye dwelt upon it.

36 And upon those that are left alive of you I will send such cowardice into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, that the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursue.

37 And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursue; and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

38 And ye shall perish among the Gentiles, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

39 And those that are left of you shall pine away for their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and for the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

40 ¶ And they shall confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers for their trespass which they trespassed against me and that also they have walked contrary unto me,

41 and that I also have walked contrary unto them and have brought them into the land of their enemies; and then their uncircumcised hearts shall be humbled, and they shall plead because of their iniquity;

42 and I will remember my covenant with Jacob and likewise my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember, and I will remember the land.

43 That the land shall be without them and shall rest her sabbaths, being desolate because of them; and they shall plead because of their iniquity because they despised my rights and their soul abhorred my statutes.

44 And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them to destroy them utterly and to break my covenant with them; for I AM their God.

45 But I will remember them because of the old covenant, when I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the Gentiles, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.

46 These are the statutes and rights and laws, which the LORD established between him and the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

27 ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the sons of Israel and say unto them, When someone shall make a special vow unto the LORD, according to the estimation of the persons that are to be redeemed, thus shall be thy estimation:

Regarding the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

And if it is a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.

And if it is from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

And if it is from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver.

And if it is from sixty years old and above, if it is a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

But if he is poorer than thy estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to the ability of the one that vowed shall the priest value him.

And if it is an animal which is offered unto the LORD, all that anyone gives of such unto the LORD shall be holy.

10 He shall not alter it nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if he shall exchange one animal for another, then it and the one exchanged thereof shall belong to the sanctuary.

11 And if it is an unclean animal, which cannot be offered as a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the animal before the priest;

12 and the priest shall value it, whether it is good or bad; according to the estimation of the priest, so shall it be.

13 But if it must be redeemed, then they shall add a fifth part thereof unto thy estimation.

Mark 10:32-52

32 ¶ And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus went before them; and they were amazed, and they followed him with fear. Then, taking the twelve aside again, he began to tell them what things would happen unto him,

33 saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the princes of the priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death and shall deliver him to the Gentiles,

34 and they shall mock him and shall scourge him and shall spit upon him and shall kill him; but the third day he shall rise again.

35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou should do for us whatever we shall ask.

36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?

37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one at thy right hand and the other at thy left hand in thy glory.

38 Then Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask; can ye drink the cup that I drink? Or be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and of the baptism that I am baptized with ye shall be baptized;

40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared.

41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be angry against James and John.

42 But Jesus, calling unto them, said unto them, Ye know that those who are seen to be princes among the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those that are great among them wield power over them.

43 But it shall not be like this among you, for whosoever desires to make himself great among you shall be your servant;

44 and whosoever of you that desires to be first shall be slave of all.

45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to serve and to give his life in ransom for many.

46 ¶ And so they come to Jericho, and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

47 And hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

48 And many told him to be silent, but he cried even more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

49 Then Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Have confidence, rise; he calls thee.

50 He, therefore, casting away his garment, rose and came to Jesus.

51 And Jesus, answering, said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? And the blind man said unto him, Master, that I might receive my sight.

52 And Jesus said unto him, Go; thy faith has saved thee. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way.

Psalm 45

To the Overcomer: upon Shoshannim lilies, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves.

¶ My heart is overflowing with a good word; I speak of the things which I have done concerning the king; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Thou art fairer than the sons of men, grace is poured into thy lips; therefore God has blessed thee for ever.

Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most valiant, with thy glory and thy majesty.

And in thy majesty be prospered; ride upon the word of truth and of humility and of righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

Thine arrows, by which the peoples fall under thee, penetrate the heart of the enemies of the king.

¶ Thy throne, O God, is eternal and for ever, the rod of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

All thy garments smell of myrrh and aloes and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, by which they have made thee glad.

Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women; the queen stands at thy right hand with a crown of gold from Ophir.

10 ¶ Hearken, O daughter, and consider and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;

11 so shall the king greatly desire thy beauty; and bow before him, for he is thy Lord.

12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

13 The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework; the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought; they shall enter into the king’s palace.

16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy sons, whom thou shalt make princes in all the earth.

17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the people praise thee eternally and for ever.

Proverbs 10:22

22 ¶ The blessing of the LORD is that which makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
