Version
Numbers 2-3

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

Each man of the sons of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, according to the ensigns of the houses of their fathers; round about the tabernacle of the testimony shall they pitch.

¶ These shall pitch toward the sunrise, on the east: the standard of the camp of Judah throughout their hosts and the prince of the sons of Judah, Nahshon, the son of Amminadab.

His host, with those that were numbered of them, were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

Next to him shall pitch those of the tribe of Issachar and the prince of the sons of Issachar, Nethaneel, the son of Zuar.

His host, with those that were numbered thereof, were fifty-four thousand four hundred.

And the tribe of Zebulun and the prince of the sons of Zebulun, Eliab, the son of Helon.

His host, with those that were numbered thereof, were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were one hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred, by their hosts. These shall set forth first.

10 The standard of the camp of Reuben shall be towards the Negev, by their hosts and the prince of the sons of Reuben, Elizur, the son of Shedeur.

11 His host, with those that were numbered thereof, were forty-six thousand five hundred.

12 And those which pitch by him shall be the tribe of Simeon and the prince of the sons of Simeon, Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai.

13 His host, with those that were numbered of them, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

14 And the tribe of Gad and the prince of the sons of Gad, Eliasaph, the son of Reuel.

15 His host, with those that were numbered of them, were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

16 All that were numbered in the camp of Reuben were one hundred fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty, by their hosts. And they shall set forth second.

17 Then shall set forward the tabernacle of the testimony, the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps, in the manner that they encamp, so shall they set forward, each one in his place by their standards.

18 The standard of the camp of Ephraim by his hosts, on the west and the prince of the sons of Ephraim, Elishama, the son of Ammihud.

19 His host, with those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand five hundred.

20 By him shall be the tribe of Manasseh and the prince of the sons of Manasseh, Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur.

21 His host, with those that were numbered of them, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

22 And the tribe of Benjamin and the prince of the sons of Benjamin, Abidan, the son of Gideoni.

23 His host, with those that were numbered of them, were thirty-five thousand four hundred.

24 All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were one hundred and eight thousand one hundred, by their hosts. And they shall go forward third.

25 The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the Aquilon by their hosts and the prince of the sons of Dan, Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai.

26 His host, with those that were numbered of them, were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

27 Next to him shall camp those of the tribe of Asher and the prince of the sons of Asher, Pagiel, the son of Ocran.

28 His host, with those that were numbered of them, were forty-one thousand five hundred.

29 And the tribe of Naphtali and the prince of the sons of Naphtali, Ahira, the son of Enan.

30 His host, with those that were numbered of them, were fifty-three thousand four hundred.

31 All those that were numbered in the camp of Dan were one hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred. They shall go last behind their standards.

32 These are those who were numbered of the sons of Israel by the houses of their fathers; all those that were numbered of the camps throughout their hosts were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

33 But the Levites were not numbered among the sons of Israel, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

34 And the sons of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses; so they pitched by their standards, and so they marched, each one after their families, according to the houses of their fathers.

¶ These also are the generations of Aaron and of Moses in the day that the LORD spoke with Moses in Mount Sinai.

And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab, the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, anointed priests, whose hands he filled to administer the priesthood.

But Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no sons; and Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood in the sight of Aaron, their father.

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

Bring the tribe of Levi near and present them before Aaron, the priest, that they may minister unto him.

And they shall keep his commandment and the commandment of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the testimony, to minister in the service of the tabernacle.

And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the testimony and the charge of the sons of Israel, to minister in the service of the tabernacle.

And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons; they are completely given unto him out of the sons of Israel.

10 And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons that they shall guard their priesthood; and the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

11 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

12 Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the sons of Israel instead of all the firstborn that open the womb among the sons of Israel; therefore the Levites shall be mine;

13 because all the firstborn are mine; from the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both of men and of animals; they shall be mine: I am the LORD.

14 ¶ The LORD also spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

15 Number the sons of Levi by the houses of their fathers, by their families; thou shalt number every male from a month old and upward.

16 And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he was commanded.

17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari.

18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

19 And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20 And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to the houses of their fathers.

21 Of Gershon was the family of Libni and the family of Shimei; these are the families of Gershon.

22 Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, those that were numbered of them were seven thousand five hundred.

23 The families of Gershon shall pitch behind the tabernacle to the west;

24 and the prince of the house of the father of the Gershonites, Eliasaph, son of Lael.

25 And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the testimony shall be the tabernacle and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the testimony,

26 and the hangings of the court and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof.

27 And of Kohath was the family of Amram and the family of Izehar and the family of Hebron and the family of Uzziel; these are the families of the Kohathites.

28 In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.

29 The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle towards the Negev;

30 and the prince of the house of the father of the families of Kohath, Elizaphan, son of Uzziel.

31 And their charge shall be the ark and the table and the lampstand and the altars and the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister, and the veil, with all its service.

32 And Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, shall be principal over the princes of the Levites and have the oversight of those that keep the charge of the sanctuary.

33 Of Merari was the family of Mahli and the family of Mushi; these are the families of Merari.

34 And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand two hundred;

35 and the prince of the house of the father of the families of Merari, Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle to the Aquilon.

36 And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle and the bars thereof and the pillars thereof and the sockets thereof and all the instruments thereof, with all its service,

37 and the pillars of the court round about and their sockets and their stakes and their cords.

38 And those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, before the tabernacle of the testimony towards the sunrise, shall be Moses and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the sons of Israel; and the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

39 All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron, according to the word of the LORD, numbered by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.

40 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the sons of Israel from a month old and upward and take the number of their names.

41 And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am the LORD) instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel and the animals of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the animals of the sons of Israel.

42 And Moses numbered, as the LORD commanded him, all the firstborn among the sons of Israel.

43 And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.

44 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

45 Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel and the animals of the Levites instead of their animals, and the Levites shall be mine; I am the LORD.

46 And for the ransoms of the two hundred seventy-three of the firstborn of the sons of Israel, who are more than the Levites,

47 thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them (the shekel is of twenty gerahs).

48 And thou shalt give the money, of the ransoms of the odd number of them, unto Aaron and to his sons.

49 And Moses took the ransom money of those that were over and above the ones that were redeemed by the Levites

50 and received of the firstborn of the sons of Israel, in money, a thousand three hundred and sixty-five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

51 And Moses gave the money of the ransoms unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Mark 11:27-12:17

27 ¶ And they returned to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the princes of the priests and the scribes and the elders came

28 and said unto him, By what faculty doest thou these things? and who gave thee this faculty to do these things?

29 Then Jesus, answering, said unto them, I will also ask of you one word, and respond unto me, and I will tell you with what faculty I do these things.

30 The baptism of John, was it of heaven or of men? Respond unto me.

31 Then they thought inside themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

32 But if we shall say, Of men, we fear the people, for everyone judged regarding John that he truly was a prophet.

33 And answering, they said unto Jesus, We do not know. And Jesus, answering, said unto them, Neither shall I tell you with what faculty I do these things.

12 ¶ And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard and set a hedge about it and dug a place for the winefat {Place where grapes are tread} and built a tower and let it out to husbandmen and went far away.

And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a slave that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

And taking him, they beat him and sent him away empty.

And again he sent unto them another slave, and casting stones at him, they wounded him in the head and sent him away shamefully handled.

And again he sent another, and him they killed and many others, beating some and killing some.

Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the place shall be ours.

And taking hold of him, they killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.

What, therefore, shall the lord of the vineyard do? He shall come and destroy those husbandmen and shall give his vineyard unto others.

10 And have ye not read this scripture: The stone which the builders rejected is placed as the head of the corner;

11 This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

12 And they sought to lay hold on him but feared the multitude, for they understood that he had spoken the parable against them, and leaving him, they went away.

13 ¶ And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to catch him in his words.

14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art a man of truth who regards no man; for thou dost not look upon the appearance of men, but dost with truth teach the way of God; is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

15 Shall we give or shall we not give? Then he, understanding their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? Bring me the coin that I may see it.

16 And they brought it. And he said unto them, Of whom is this image and inscription? And they said unto him, Of Caesar.

17 And Jesus, answering, said unto them, Render that which is of Caesar unto Caesar, and that which is of God unto God. And they marvelled at this.

Psalm 47

To the Overcomer: A Psalm for the sons of Korah.

¶ O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

He shall guide the peoples under us, and the Gentiles under our feet.

He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

¶ God is gone up with a shout of joy, the LORD with the sound of the shofar.

Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

For God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises with understanding.

God reigns over the Gentiles; God sits upon the throne of his holiness.

The princes of the peoples have joined the people of the God of Abraham; for the shields of the earth belong unto God; he is greatly exalted.

Proverbs 10:24-25

24 ¶ The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him, but God shall grant the desire of the righteous.

25 When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous is founded for ever.
