Micah 5-7

The Ruler Will Come from Bethlehem

[a]Now muster yourselves in troops, daughter of troops;
[b]They have laid siege against us;
With a rod they will (A)strike the judge of Israel on the cheek.
[c]But as for (B)you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of Judah,
From (C)you One will go forth for Me to be (D)ruler in Israel.
[d]His goings forth are (E)from everlasting,
From the ancient days.”
Therefore He will (F)give them up until the time
When she (G)who is in childbirth has borne a child.
Then the (H)remainder of His brothers
Will return to the sons of Israel.
And He will stand and (I)shepherd His flock
In the strength of Yahweh,
In the majesty of the name of Yahweh His God.
And they will [e]remain
Because [f]at that time He will be great
To the (J)ends of the earth.
And this One (K)will be peace.
When the (L)Assyrian enters our land,
When he treads on our [g]citadels,
Then we will raise against him
Seven shepherds and eight princes of men.
And they will (M)shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword,
The land of (N)Nimrod at its entrances;
And He will (O)deliver us from the Assyrian
When he enters our land
And when he treads within our borders.

Then the (P)remnant of Jacob
Will be among many peoples
Like (Q)dew from Yahweh,
Like (R)showers on vegetation
Which do not hope for man
Or wait for the sons of men.
Then the remnant of Jacob
Will be among the nations,
Among many peoples
(S)Like a lion among the beasts of the forest,
Like a young lion among flocks of sheep,
Which, if it passes through,
(T)Tramples down and (U)tears,
And there is (V)none to deliver.
Your hand will be (W)raised up against your adversaries,
And all your enemies will be cut off.

10 “And it will be in that day,” declares Yahweh,
(X)That I will cut off your (Y)horses from among you
And destroy your chariots.
11 And I will cut off the (Z)cities of your land
And pull down all your (AA)fortifications.
12 And I will cut off (AB)sorceries from your hand,
And you will have soothsaying no more.
13 (AC)And I will cut off your graven images
And your sacred pillars from among you
So that you will no longer worship
The work of your hands.
14 And I will uproot your [h](AD)Asherim from among you
And [i]eradicate your cities.
15 And I will (AE)execute vengeance in anger and wrath
On the nations which have not [j](AF)listened.”

Yahweh’s Case Against His People

[k](AG)Listen now to what Yahweh is saying,

“Arise, plead your case [l]before the mountains,
And let the hills [m](AH)listen to your voice.
[n](AI)Listen, you mountains, to the case of Yahweh,
And you enduring (AJ)foundations of the earth,
Because (AK)Yahweh has a case against His people;
Even with Israel He will reprove.
(AL)My people, (AM)what have I done to you,
And (AN)how have I wearied you? Answer Me.
Indeed, I (AO)brought you up from the land of Egypt
And (AP)ransomed you from the house of slavery,
And I sent before you (AQ)Moses, Aaron, and (AR)Miriam.
My people, remember now
What (AS)Balak king of Moab counseled
And what Balaam son of Beor answered him,
And from (AT)Shittim to (AU)Gilgal,
So [o]that you might know the (AV)righteous acts of Yahweh.”

What Yahweh Requires

(AW)With what shall I come before Yahweh
And bow myself before the God on high?
Shall I come before Him with (AX)burnt offerings,
With yearling calves?
Is Yahweh pleased with (AY)thousands of rams,
With ten thousand rivers of oil?
Shall I give my (AZ)firstborn for my transgression,
The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has (BA)told you, O man, what is good;
And (BB)what does Yahweh require of you
But to (BC)do justice, to (BD)love lovingkindness,
And to walk [p](BE)humbly with your God?

The voice of Yahweh will call to the city—
And it is sound wisdom to fear Your name:
“Hear, O tribe. Who even has appointed [q]its time?
10 Is there yet a man in the wicked house,
Along with treasures of (BF)wickedness,
And a [r](BG)short measure which is cursed?
11 Can I purify wicked (BH)scales
And a bag of deceptive weights?
12 For the rich men of [s]the city are full of (BI)violence,
And her inhabitants speak (BJ)lies,
And their (BK)tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
13 So also I will make you (BL)sick, striking you down,
(BM)Desolating you because of your sins.
14 You will eat, but you will (BN)not be satisfied,
And your [t]vileness will be in your midst.
And you will try to remove something for safekeeping,
But you will (BO)not cause anything to escape,
And that which you do have escape, I will give to the sword.
15 You will sow but you will (BP)not reap.
You will tread the olive but will not anoint yourself with oil;
And the grapes, but you will (BQ)not drink wine.
16 The statutes of (BR)Omri
And all the works of the house of (BS)Ahab are kept;
And in their counsels you (BT)walk.
Therefore I will give you up as (BU)an object of horror
And [u]your inhabitants as an (BV)object of hissing,
And you will bear the (BW)reproach of My people.”

There Is No Upright Person

Woe is me! For I am
Like the fruit pickers, like the (BX)grape gatherers.
There is not a cluster of grapes to eat,
Or a (BY)first-ripe fig which my soul desires.
The [v]holy one has (BZ)perished from the land,
And there is no upright person among men.
All of them lie in wait for (CA)bloodshed;
Each of them hunts the other with a (CB)net.
Concerning evil, both hands do it (CC)well.
The prince asks, also the judge, for a (CD)payment,
And a great man speaks the craving of his soul;
So they weave it together.
The best of them is like a (CE)briar,
The most upright like a (CF)thorn hedge.
The day when you post your watchmen,
Your (CG)punishment will come.
[w]At that time their (CH)panic will happen.
Do not (CI)believe in a neighbor;
Do not have confidence in a close companion.
From her who lies in your bosom
Guard the openings of your mouth.
For (CJ)son treats father as a wicked fool;
Daughter rises up against her mother,
Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
(CK)A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.

Yahweh Is a Light for Me

But as for me, I will (CL)watch expectantly for Yahweh;
I will (CM)wait for the God of my salvation.
My (CN)God will hear me.
(CO)Do not be glad over me, O (CP)my enemy.
Though I fall I will (CQ)rise;
Though I inhabit the darkness, Yahweh is a (CR)light for me.

I will bear the rage of Yahweh
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He (CS)pleads my case and does justice for me.
He will bring me out to the (CT)light,
And I will see His [x](CU)righteousness.
10 Then my enemy will see,
And shame will cover her who (CV)said to me,
“Where is Yahweh your God?”
My eyes will look on her;
[y]At that time she will [z]be (CW)trampled down
Like mire of the streets.
11 It will be a day for (CX)building your walls.
On that day your boundary will be extended.
12 It will be a day when [aa]they will (CY)come to you
From Assyria and the cities of Egypt,
From Egypt even to the [ab]River,
Even from sea to sea and mountain to mountain.
13 And the earth will become (CZ)desolate because of her inhabitants,
On account of the (DA)fruit of their deeds.

14 (DB)Shepherd Your people with Your (DC)scepter,
The flock of Your inheritance
Which dwells by itself in the forest,
In the midst of [ac]a fruitful orchard.
Let them feed in (DD)Bashan and Gilead
(DE)As in the ancient days.
15 “As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt,
I will show [ad](DF)you wondrous deeds.”
16 Nations (DG)will see and be ashamed
Of all their might.
They will (DH)put their hand on their mouth;
Their ears will be deaf.
17 They will (DI)lick the dust like a serpent,
Like (DJ)crawling things of the earth.
They will come (DK)trembling out of their [ae]fortresses;
To Yahweh our God they will come in (DL)dread,
And they will be afraid before You.
18 Who is a God like You, who (DM)forgives iniquity
And passes over the transgression of the (DN)remnant of His inheritance?
He does not (DO)hold fast to His anger forever
Because He (DP)delights in lovingkindness.
19 He will again have compassion on us;
(DQ)He will subdue our iniquities.
And You will (DR)cast all [af]their sins
Into the depths of the sea.
20 You will give [ag](DS)truth to Jacob
And lovingkindness to Abraham,
Which You (DT)swore to our fathers
From the days of old.

Revelation 7

The 144,000

After this I saw (A)four angels standing at the (B)four corners of the earth, holding back (C)the four winds of the earth, (D)so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending (E)from the rising of the sun, having the (F)seal of (G)the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the (H)four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, “(I)Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have (J)sealed the slaves of our God on their (K)foreheads.”

And I heard the (L)number of those having been sealed, (M)144,000 sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:

from the tribe of Judah, 12,000 having been sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben 12,000,
from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
from the tribe of Asher 12,000,
from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000,
from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,
from the tribe of Simeon 12,000,
from the tribe of Levi 12,000,
from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,
from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000,
from the tribe of Joseph 12,000,
from the tribe of Benjamin, 12,000 having been sealed.

A Multitude from Every Nation

After these things I looked, and behold, a great [a]multitude which no one could count, from (N)every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing (O)before the throne and (P)before the Lamb, clothed in (Q)white robes, and (R)palm branches were in their hands; 10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying,

(S)Salvation belongs to our God (T)who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” 11 And all the angels were standing (U)around the throne and (V)the elders and the (W)four living creatures, and they (X)fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying,

(Y)Amen, (Z)the blessing and the glory and the wisdom and the thanksgiving and the honor and the power and the strength, be to our God forever and ever. (AA)Amen.”

13 Then one of the elders (AB)answered, saying to me, “These, clothed in the (AC)white robes, who are they, and from where have they come?” 14 And I [b]said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the (AD)great tribulation, and they (AE)washed their robes and made them (AF)white in the (AG)blood of the Lamb. 15 For this reason, they are (AH)before the throne of God; and they (AI)serve Him day and night in His [c](AJ)sanctuary; and (AK)He who sits on the throne will [d](AL)dwell over them. 16 (AM)They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun [e]beat down on them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb at the center of the throne will (AN)shepherd them and will guide them to springs of the [f](AO)water of life. And (AP)God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Psalm 135

O Yahweh, Your Name Is Everlasting

135 [a](A)Praise Yah!
Praise the name of Yahweh;
Praise Him, O (B)slaves of Yahweh,
You who stand in the house of Yahweh,
In the (C)courts of the house of our God!
[b]Praise Yah, for (D)Yahweh is good;
(E)Sing praises to His name, (F)for it is lovely.
For Yah has (G)chosen Jacob for Himself,
Israel for His [c](H)treasured possession.

For I know that (I)Yahweh is great
And that our Lord is greater (J)than all gods.
(K)Whatever Yahweh pleases, He does,
In heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
The One who (L)causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth;
Who (M)makes lightnings for the rain,
Who (N)brings forth the wind from His storehouses.

[d]He (O)struck the firstborn of Egypt,
From man to beast.
[e]He sent (P)signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt,
Amongst (Q)Pharaoh and all his slaves.
10 [f](R)He (S)struck many nations
And slew mighty kings,
11 (T)Sihon, king of the Amorites,
And (U)Og, king of Bashan,
And (V)all the kingdoms of Canaan;
12 And He (W)gave their land as an inheritance,
An inheritance to Israel His people.
13 O Yahweh, Your (X)name is everlasting,
O Yahweh, Your [g]remembrance is [h]from generation to generation.
14 For Yahweh will (Y)render justice for His people
And (Z)will give comfort to His slaves.
15 The (AA)idols of the nations are silver and gold,
The work of man’s hands.
16 They have mouths, but they do not speak;
They have eyes, but they do not see;
17 They have ears, but they do not hear,
Surely, there is not any breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them will be like them,
All who trust in them.

19 O house of (AB)Israel, bless Yahweh;
O house of Aaron, bless Yahweh;
20 O house of Levi, bless Yahweh;
You (AC)who fear Yahweh, bless Yahweh.
21 Blessed be Yahweh (AD)from Zion,
Who (AE)dwells in Jerusalem.
[i]Praise Yah!

Proverbs 30:5-6

Every (A)word of God is [a]tested;
He is a (B)shield to those who take refuge in Him.
(C)Do not add to His words
Lest He reprove you, and you be proved a liar.
